Why is the mosquito truck running?
Why is the mosquito truck running? Is there a surplus the county has to use up before the end of the year?

That is wierd! Don't think I have been a victim of any of the little buggers since the beginning of Sept.
If I were President, I'd paint the White House pink!

I had my doors open for a while yesterday and I have killed two mosquitos in the house. It's warm and we had a lot of rain. If it doesn't get cold quick, they will hatch and eat us all!!!!

The frogs are back up again. It sounds like August after dark.

I do remember killing one last night. This would be the first time I've ever experienced a mosquito in December. Question, I know that it doesn't usually get cold enough to kill the eggs, but if they all hatch and then we get a nice cold snap would that kill them off?

I know ...how crazy was THAT? I dont know if it was gorged with bugs or had a problem with its little sonar but I freaked. And I had just told the kids (laughing at me ducking from them even tho I was in the vehicle) that I was going to be P***** if I hit one. But the thing bouncing off the windshield did make for alot of laughter for the remainder of the drive.

I don't know that it ever gets cold enough to kill the eggs. If that were the case, Alaska wouldn't have those giant size mosquitoes it is famous for. (no political commentary, please
)
I do know that most species around here hatch at 70 degrees and I've seen a few of them since it warmed up. Not all that many, though. The truck came down my street last night too. Most annoying, I had to close all the windows. I was enjoying airing out the house. It is kind of strange because the truck seldom came around during the summer, when I had lots more mosquitoes.
