Need volunteers for Cottages for Kids!

What is Cottages for Kids?
With tremendous imagination and craftsmanship, builder’s and architects come together to create, construct and decorate whimsical cottages that look like they have popped out from the pages of a fairytale to modern creations brimming with creativity.

Who does this Benefit?
Children’s Volunteer Health Network “CVHN”

Who We Are
Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc., HEALTHY HAPPY KIDS, is a faith-based 501(c)3 organization, established in 2005 in direct response to Walton and Okaloosa counties’ large population of families who are unable to access high quality health services due to the unavailability (or inadequacy) of insurance.

What We Do
Our organization facilitates the delivery of comprehensive direct medical, dental and mental health services to school children whose family income falls below certain measures throughout Walton and Okaloosa Counties and surrounding communities.
In the first 9 months of 2008 CVHN facilitated:
222 dental appointments
97 medical appointments
And 105 mental health appointments

Why We Do It
It is estimated that 22% of Walton County and 13% of Okaloosa County children have no health insurance. 60% of Walton County families have no dental insurance. And there are only 15 dentists in Walton County to serve the population of over 50,000 people.

Wednesday, November 26th, 10am-4pm
Thanksgiving Day, November 27th, 10am-2pm
Friday, November 28th, 10am-4pm

Auction & Raffle
Saturday, November 29th
Raffle at 10:30 am
Auction starts at 11:00 am

APB Would the contractor who borrowed the Cedar Shake Ridge Cap for their Cottage reach out to me? It was from lot 24 Watersound Beach. We need to obtain replacement and don't know how much was used from our job.

Cottages for Kids is a little short on volunteers for this week, Wednesday through Friday. We are open Wed. & Fri. 10:00-4:00 (shifts are 9:30-1:00 & 1:00-4:00). Thursday (I know, it’s Thanksgiving Day, but there will be a lot of people in town looking for something to do) we’re open 10:00-2:00.

Please consider helping us man the cottages! This is the final week of the event, so it’s a good opportunity to come meet our visitors and have some fun!
