WaterSound North update

The St. Joe project is underway, North of Hwy 98 at the East end of the County. The property is North of Camp Creek golf course, and West of Lake Powell / Wild Heron.

In 2003, the county approved phase one, 478 homes on 500 acres. Approval is now being sought for a total of 1,380 units on 1,400 acres, and will include 6-hole and 9-hole golf courses.

In comparison, Sandestin on the West end of the county is 2,400 acres, with a much higher density.

Also planned for WaterSound North is 450,000 square feet of commercial space.

The project will take about 10 years to build out.

the Walton County Planning Commission will review the project April 14th, and the County Commission will review it May 3rd, dates subject to change.

Also, the lots will be around 1 acre per lot in size.

Well if there are 1380 units on 1400 acres, with pools, golf, parks, greenspace, trails, roads, etc. - won't the lots be smaller than an acre?

I think the golf, pools, etc are on additional acerage.
