Re: Busch Gardens / Six Flags / Disney near DeFuniak Springs???
Sorry I don't - so mine is a worthless post. Wouldn't surprise me a bit as part of the long-term plan with the airport, convention hotels, and cruise ships coming.
Can casinos be far behind?

According to some old timers in Freeport, this rumor has been floating around for many, many years. But I don't know if it's true now.

Have you heard about the airport? Have you heard the rumor that Port Panama City is indeed preparing for a major cruise ship industry? I don't know alot about amusement parks but the future growth of the area has positive potential.

My friend Lilly's grandaughter Becky that lives over there on the west side of Panama City Beach on Bay Avenue I think, she said that Becky heard that there's going to be an airport over there where people can fly out all over the place. I can't fly because because the air in those things dries my eyes out so bad, but I read where lots of people fly around all over the place, really all over the world, which I think is real dangerous. It's still very exciting though.

Add in the cost of liability insurance and maintenance and they were losing money. My point is that it isn't a smart business move for a major theme park to move in and build something from scratch. Maybe in twenty years. To most people, DeFuniak Springs is still the middle of nowhere.
That growth is positive depends upon your perspective. With growth comes greater convenience, better jobs, and more opportunities, but also traffic, pollution, etc. It is a trade-off.

Maybe a mid-size fun park and marine attraction in PCB.
