IF we bring our growlers...will there be beer to fill it with
(I don't think people care anymore that the title ended with a preposition...I am going on vacation...to 30A..Anyway, is there anyplace to fill the beer growlers? Other than opening up a couple of bottles and pouring them into it. We are bring a couple of full ones, so we will be alright for day...maybe.
What about the hofbrauhaus at Park Pier on Front Beach Road? There is a similar restaurant in northern kentucky that is great fun. Long wooden picnic tables. Kids running around. Great German food. German ban singing about Jaegar shots every 1/2 hour or so. That is a must stop if you are ever in Northern KY or the Cincy area. They also have a big beer garden and a side room for buffets.
Should we stop somewhere on the way down?
Thank you.
Tomorrow I will have to get thing rapped up but they are taking us out for a beer lunch to celebrate someone's 10th anniversary with the company. Since it is mine before his, I hope I am included.
I am going on and on and on...so hyped.
Ye who live down there just can't image. We're always planning on the next trip to the beach. Next year I am either going to go twice - or for two whole weeks.
I can't forget everything, but where are my flip flops? my sun tan spray? my drink? beach, bike, restaurant, shop, or pool? Seaside, Grayton, Watercolor?
I want to have to make these decisions everyday.
Happy Vacation to everyone (and yes, is there beer?:-)Go Cards

I have no freakin' clue about a growler. But I've often wondered on the preposition thing. I'm often rewriting sentences so that they won't end in prepostitions -- because apparently I think and speak with a lof ot dangling preps.

People who aren't COPS quality white trash, call them kegs and buy them or bring them full!

Ahhh, kegs! I paid my way through college working at ABC package in Athens, Ga. Kids were always bringing in empty kegs and asking us to 'refill' them. We'd take the empty back into the cooler, proceed to drink a few imports (we had the best beer selection in town) and eventually bring a new keg out to them. Of course, we didn't refill it, as that was done at the beer distributor, but our act perpetuated the whole "we can get this keg refilled at ABC" myth.
Doesn't Publix do kegs, with notice?"Eloquence is the essential thing in a speech, not information." - Mark Twain

You can order a keg, but they only refill the one you rent. I believe this is something to do with Florida's antiquated liquor laws.
Feeling adventurous? You can head up to South Port (north of Lynn Haven be prepared for banjo plucking) and fill up any container with draft beer at one of the convenience stores.

A growler is a gallon size container to fill beer usually from microbreweries. That way you can take the good tap beer home with you. Unfortunately last I heard Florida doesn't allow the filling of growlers like most states do. The growlers you get at McGuires are only allowed to be filled with root beer. Trust me - I have tried to talk them out of this one.

In the Louisville area there are several micro breweries with restaurants connected. Great gathering places and food. Plus there are more regulars at these establishments than most other restaurants. Some also make beer for other restaurants for their own house beer and some is bottled - Bluegrass Brewing Company. At these microbreweries plus several spirit stores you initially purchase a 64 oz glass jug of micro beer for $7.99 (avg.), then you can get it refilled at any of these places for whatever they charge. Maybe $6.99. Some of our spirit stores in Louisville are larger than the Publix grocery. We like to party here.
If you want to enjoy the company of locals, have good beer, and food, look for microbreweries when you travel.Go Cards
