no more tax free days for Florida Hurricane Preparedness
This year, the State of Florida will not be lifting the sales taxes on the purchase of Hurricane preparedness items, prior to the open of the season. In the past, they have lifted the sales tax on the items such as flashlights, tarps, batteries, chainsaws, generators, etc, which fall into a certain price range. They did this to encourage people to be prepared. This year, I guess they are giving a big middle finger to the people, so that they can make an estimated additional $12 million in tax revenues.
