I am a huge fan of Alys Beach (development), I just wish that you had been inspired to take the concept to its much higher calling.

I have walked the lands of Alys many times, where are the alternative energies? The solar PV installs generating electricity for the community energy (not the housing units) which creates the emphasis on residence-owner active solar thermal, electrical and potable water heating?

Unused personand community BTU recycling?

Cisterns for community/unit rain water collection, the facilities to convert to potables?

The experimentation housing aka the living lab approach to alt energies? The academic outreach (Dauphene Island Sea and Aquatic), have they no acreage for the intellectual pursuits?

Was it enough to hire New Urbanism? Did the grandchildren of Alys pay only white walls and lip service to the sustainability of (AlysBeach)man?
