St. Joe Golf announcement
This is the email I received from St. Joe.
Comments?
(like I have to ask!)
September 19, 2007
Dear St. Joe Homeowners,
With the completion of the purchase of Shark's Tooth Golf Club behind us and transition under way, we have been working very hard to address the many possibilities that having Camp Creek, Shark's Tooth and the Origins Courses under one roof will mean to you.
Effective October 1, 2007, owners in the St. Joe communities of WaterColor, WaterSound, WaterSound Beach, WaterSound West Beach, RiverCamps and owners who purchase one of the 28 lots at Wild Heron acquired as part of the Shark's Tooth purchase will be extended the opportunity of membership on the following basis:
Full Golf Memberships at Camp Creek and at Shark's Tooth are available to property owners in these St. Joe designated communities and properties. Full Golf Members at Camp Creek will enjoy unlimited golf at Camp Creek with no member cart fees and both accompanied and unaccompanied guest privileges at Camp Creek. The deposit is currently $37,500 with monthly dues of $325. The membership deposit is 85% refundable as described in the current membership documents. This membership does not allow access to the WaterSound Beach Club. Full Golf Members at Shark's Tooth will have both accompanied and unaccompanied guest privileges at Shark's Tooth. The deposit is currently $40,000 with monthly dues at $500. This membership also includes access to dining, tennis and beach club at Shark's Tooth.
As a property owner you also have the option for a Combined Players Membership. This will be a recallable membership with a deposit of $18,000 (50% refundable) and $325 monthly dues. This membership will allow for 24 members rounds annually over both courses and entry to all Club events. This membership does not allow unaccompanied guest privileges, Beach Club or Tennis access.
Many of you have told us you would like the opportunity to play a limited number of times as you only spend a limited amount of time here. We have listened to your comments and are pleased to offer limited play at Camp Creek with some restrictions on play and times given our desire to accommodate the needs of our Camp Creek members.
Effective October 1, 2007, owners and purchasers in designated communities will be extended the opportunity to play golf at Camp Creek Golf Club on the following basis:
Each property is allotted up to a total of 12 rounds of play per year.
You are welcome to bring family members and friends with you and each player will count against your annual allotment of 12 rounds of play.
The current rate for play is $130 per round and the rates are subject to change.
No unaccompanied play is permitted, i.e. the owner must be playing with his/her guest(s).
Golf starting times may be requested 7 days in advance of play (the number to call for tee times: 850-231-7600).
The golf privileges are available on a space available basis and may be terminated or restricted at any time at the discretion of the club operator.
For members of the WaterSound Beach Club, this golf access program replaces your current golf privileges and is not in addition.
This opportunity is a revocable right to use the Camp Creek Golf Course on a limited basis and is not a property right of those benefited. This opportunity is subject to change without notice.
We hope you will enjoy this expansion of the benefits of ownership in your St. Joe community."Save the tata's!!!"

Re: St. Joe Golf announcement
What they didn't say is how they have screwed existing Wild Heron owners who had not yet activeted memberships. Any current Wild Heron owner without a membership (approximately 350 owners) can only buy a limited golf membership with absolutely no access to the restaurant at the club house or to the Wild Heron beachclub.
St. Joe has basically crippled its only real competition and in the process, by choice, left a whole bunch of WH owners holding the bag. Many suits to follow for sure as this certainly was not was being marketed and sold by the WH.
