Re: Bud & Alley's having Katrina fundraiser Labor Day Monday
With you guys matching the donations, everyone in SoWal needs to be there for sure. That is like having your employer matching your savings in your pension plan. Drink discounts and great music to boot!

Awesome! I will see you there. Dave, you guys rock.

Thanks Dave. Our neighbors from New Orleans have been really moved by all the hospitality everyone here has given.

There will also be great silent auction items to be bid upon, like tickets to the theatre! All businesses are encouraged to donate items to the auction. Please spread the word!

I heard that Bud & Alleys took in around $4,000 from the door and they will be matching the door proceeds which the bands are donating. If Dave can give us a report on actual money raised, it would be great to see.
You guys would be proud of Kurt, who so kindly donated many, many signed and numbered photos for the auction.
Great job to all involved in making this event a success, and to all who supported the fun filled evening.

Re: Bud & Alley's Katrina fundraiser Labor Day Monday
It was a great event with generous folks, great food and music, and a beautiful sunset. There were quite a few folks from NOLA there that can't wait to start rebuilding their lives and their city.
Dave was an entertaining MC on the microphone and at one point asked the crowd where Smiling Joe was. I left a few minutes before SJ arrived and closed it out.
Here are some photos: http://sowal.com/photos-090505.html

Re: Bud & Alley's Katrina fundraiser Labor Day Monday
Yeah, like he cares. Dave did look like he was enjoying the event, running around with that wireless mic and making people wonder where he was located -- the hidden voice in the crowd. I had a great time as did many others. I closed down the show, but not the bar. Many great friends were there and several were missing. I hear the FSU and Miami game may have pulled a little harder for some people.

Thanks for the pics and reports!
Sounds and looks like a huge success. How could in not have been - with music, art, drinks, friends and a beautiful setting. Cheers to Bud and Alleys and ALL the contributors.

Awesome photos of the event, Kurt! I wondered why MoonDance was out of sight, but I am glad to see that he made it. I just missed him crossing paths. I thought I saw Tootsie when I first arrived, but before I could get down the stairs to say hi, she disappeared.

Re: Bud & Alley's Katrina fundraiser Labor Day Monday
we wanted to stay but it was a school night. I heard it was rocking and rolling after we left. my yoga instructor was a little hung over this morning.
Dave was great to announce the sowal.com site and commented that it was the best site in and about our community. And that's when he asked Smiling Joe to show his face! What a riot!!!

Re: Bud & Alley's Katrina fundraiser Labor Day Monday
Wish I was there...sounds like it was a blast. If you want to make some money you could check my cc reciepts and just match what I spent there in 4 months this summer. You could rebuild the city with that alone.
