Happy Easter everyone. We're coloring eggs tonight. Tomorrow we play our traditional Italian Easter egg cracking game after a nice lunch of home-made ravioli. The game goes like this (you need gambling money -- pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters for the big wheels who are feeling very lucky):

One person takes a hard-boiled Easter Egg and challenges someone else to see whose egg will crack. The two people hold their eggs kinda tightly in their fist with one of the smaller ends sticking out a bit. Then they crack their eggs together and whoever's egg cracks gives the money they bet to the other person. When all the eggs are cracked on both ends, the person who made the most money is the winner and I made egg salad. It's a fun game because it's all in good fun and it works for every age -- from 1 - whatever and there don't seem to be any special techniques that work better than others (though some people think they have a special technique or lucky egg). We've been playing this game at Easter for 3 generations and we'll be playing it in Michigan while other family members are playing it in Massachusetts and Italy. Perhaps someday we'll play it in SoWal.

Easter report---We had an action packed Easter!

Egg hunt at Eden (COLD!!) - saw the IBDs and Beachmoms and Waco. It was Kate's first egg hunt with competition and she did fairly well. Will, his friend, and Beachmom's daughter assisted in the egg hiding. Our Easter present to ourselves was a Waco CD and sticker....

We also met Liv's Mom and her husband and little Olivia, who is even more beautiful in person than she is in her mom's avatar.

The boys went exploring on the Pt.Washington forest trails (thankfully, no sequel to "Murder in Pt. Washington was filmed), and later we gathered at Magnolia Treehouse and watched with great amusement and the boys launched the kayak, then the 3 girls launched the canoe into Western Lake. They had a ball!

The evening ended with the boys (including GK) watching "Talledega Nights", probably not the most family oriented Easter movie, but hey, holidays are all about togetherness, right? Shake and bake.
