We bought a gas grille a little bit ago and I put the charcoal one in the shed. It is still like new only used a few times. I will make plans to drop it off and someone can make a few bucks on it.

SWMA Community Yard Sale
Pt Washington April 25
Thanks so much to our families and friends from throughout the community who are donating time and resources to support our school and education of children!

We've had quite a response from families and friends who have donated a huge range of items for the sale. Many local residents and businesses are buying tables to participate by selling their own items. Several businesses are donating extra inventory directly to the school for the yard sale. Sponsors are providing storage, food, music and lots of support to make this community yard sale as fun and successful as possible! It is an inspiration to see families, children and friends from all over our great town making large and small contributions - and making a difference. Here are a few details so far:

SWMA will have its own general yard sale on one part of the campus - we've had many, many items donated! some items of interest:
  • Bicycles such as a Pink Barbie Bike
  • Trailer Bike
  • new decorator pillows, wool rugs and accessories
  • nearly new children's clothing
  • like new toys of all kinds
  • new and gently used baby items of all kinds
  • furniture and accessories of all kinds
  • brand new t-shirts and hats with local business/event logos
  • outdoor gear
  • tons of books
  • tons of CD's, DVDs
  • and so much more - details on items of interest later!
  • It is not too late to drop any items off at the school or call us to pick up your donations.
A large portion of the SWMA campus is reserved for you and your own table of stuff - friends, neighbors and local businesses - call now and reserve your table for $25! join us for a day of fun, sell your stuff for fun & profit (click for registration form) or contact Tara, taracasas@mac.com, 850-502-7239.

SWMA will have its own general yard sale on one part of the campus - we've had many, many items donated! I had a quick peek into one of the storage units today...

items of interest:
  • Bicycles such as a Pink Barbie Bike
  • Trailer Bike
  • gorgeous modern designer pillows, wool rugs and accessories (new)
  • new modern Italian vase
  • like new rugs of all sizes
  • new & gently used children's clothing and shoes
  • women's clothing and accessories
  • toys galore! legos, acoustic guitar, games
  • new and gently used baby items of all kinds
  • furniture and accessories of all kinds
  • several beds/frames/mattresses
  • side tables, lamps, vases, silk flowers
  • new t-shirts and hats with local business/event logos (Seaside Store shirts, MountainFilm Tshirts, etc).
  • outdoor gear, beach umbrellas & chairs
  • tons of books
  • tons of CD's, DVDs, movies
  • ceramic bowls and planters
  • kitchenware, glassware
  • stereo systems, telephones, electronics
  • Christmas ornaments and decorations
  • It is not too late to drop any items off at the school or call us to pick up your donations.
A large portion of the SWMA campus is reserved for friends, neighbors and local businesses to sell their own items - I'm not sure what all is coming but I did talk to one person today bringing bedroom furniture and a treadmill, crockpot, and other assorted kitchen items.

Depending on what time you get there, the school parking spots may be full. Please be prepared to park near the school and walk. Overflow parking is allowed at the Point Washington Methodist Church and up and down 395. Also, you could probably park at/near Bay Elementary and then walk to the school through the Eden Garden entrance and side exit. You have to actually walk through the school gate to see all the great stuff for sale... seriously folks, we have had a small mountain of stuff donated. Thanks again to everyone that has dropped off donations!

If you like yard sales you will love this one. There are over 50 tables overflowing with new and used goods. And furniture and more stuff stacked all over an acre of land.

Come and get a loaded biscuit from Summer Kitchen and coffee from the coffee house and stroll Eden State Park at its Spring finest. The Friends of Eden will be selling plants, the Historic Point Washington Association, and the Point Washington United Methodist Church will also be selling stuff to raise funds.

Be sure to check out the Farmer's Market in Seaside tomorrow morning also.

Cool hoops Chandra!

Wow - after seeing all the stuff above, the small little half-box we just dropped off for HPWA to sell looks woefully inadequate! But it's good stuff.

Wow! what a day!!! we saw so many friends today!!! and some really good sowaller gals, suffering from a little too much dikki du partaying the night before, joined us this morning for breakfast and music and shopping. I know mangy made a haul! and as much stuff as I unloaded out of my closets when cleaning out, and donating to the sale, I hauled in some new treasures too!

thanks to everyone for coming out and making today such a great success for SWMA and for our table vendors. It was a lot of funn seeing everyone!!!

the hula hoops were a hit! and DJ Lady Muse - awesome music all day long! we were kept well fed and watered too, with the best breakfast biscuits, baked goods, etc. no one starved! nothing like living on brownies all day long!

there are so many people to thank for helping with this school fundraising event.. it was a great day all around with our school and its neighborhood community celebrating a beautiful day together.

Thanks everyone! A lot of hard work went in to the sale and a lot of fun was had under the centuries-old oaks and magnolias. A lot of people got great stuff they really needed like clothes, furniture, and housewares.

The school is grateful for community support. It is a private school and is not for profit. With the welcome but expensive move from Rosemary Beach last year to the new campus there is a lot yet to be done like playground equipment, building improvements and maintenance, landscaping, etc. but the most pressing need in this economy is tuition assistance for kids and their families.

YOU KNOW IT!

We're still crunching the numbers, and we've got a few IOU's from parents and staff since there was so much great stuff left at the end of the sale, but we think in the end our total will come close to the $5000 mark!

Thank You Thank You Thank You

to everyone who helped, sold, and bought stuff at the yard sale. I dare say we'll have another one this coming fall... every fall and every spring sounds great to me. Lord knows, we all still have too much stuff.

Tootsie, I certainly brought home as much as I sold or donated! Every time I made a sale, I turned around and spent it. Sold a ton of great stuff, but spent every dollar I made! All for a great cause. I SWMA!
