I am looking for a work space to accommodate about 4 large folding tables, about a 15'x 15' space that has electricity. I am a local artist and will work in the space about 4 days a week painting and sanding. I will need to store my frames and paint and would prefer a temperature controlled environment, but its not totally necessary. I dont mind sharing with another artist!

You and our daughter. Just one semester's worth of artwork has filled up the guest bedroom. Fall semester she will be given her own studio space at school to get ready for her senior show. But from now until then, we have to store her stuff -- can't sell it because she needs it for her senior show. Plus she can't do any of her work at home because the only space that wouldn't totally disrupt the household is a room on the second floor that has wall-to-wall carpet. If that carpet gets ruined, we'd have to replace all of the carpet on the second floor because it's all the same. Finishing off the attic would cost more than renting a place, I'd guess.

You really need your stuff in a temperature-controlled environment to avoid damaging your work. That's why we haven't considered letting daughter take over the garage. It's too cold now to work in the garage, and it'll be too hot when summer gets here.

I'd love to know how you and other artists solve this problem. Good luck!

BR, go ask a local frame shop for the plastic bags that matte board comes in. You can wrap up the art work in it and store it in the attic.

Unfortunately, our attic gets oppressively hot in the summer, even though we've added extra vents. I just wouldn't want to put her artwork there. Maybe we should look at air conditioning it.

We need to do something regarding her artwork before the wedding next year. She wants to have the reception at home because it is just too beautiful not to take advantage of it. That has always been my dream as well.
