Jim Fowler's Animal Park is Still On -- news story
Jim Fowler: "Bonifay Park Plans Still On"

News 13 on your side
Tuesday, March 13, 2007
( full story)
...in Holmes County, residents are worried that the Bonifay park won't ever get built, because of contractural delays that have put the project months behind schedule. Fowler says he has confidence in Barbara Farris's work. "Barbara has come in with us a long time ago," he says as Farris stood by his side during the interview. "She's been the one that has actually secured the land, and that's exciting, because without the land, we can't do anything.
News 13 asked Farris about the delays, and she says there have been "bumps in the road" during the land acquisition process, which also includes her trying to purchase 6,000 more acres of land around the planned animal park for a theme park and amphitheater. "We've got some bumps," she says, "and we've got through them. We've got all the funding in place, and we're ready to move forward." She was reluctant to say exactly when, but she says she's hopeful to close on some of the land in the next two weeks.
