This is an example of why I do not believe former Gov. Sarah Palin is intellectually equipped to be POTUS-
when speaking at the Tea Party Convention this past weekend she delivered a shot at President Barack Obama for being charasmatic and speaking with a teleprompter. Minutes later cameras caught sight of the palm of Palin's left hand which had "notes" written with an ink pen which she used as her own cheat sheet.
Unless someone beats me to it I'll try to post the clip of her looking at her hand for her talking points during the Q&A as well as the image of what was actually written on her hand.

And what's new about this? She's not the first to deliver a holier-than-thou acclamation only to be caught doing that very thing. There has to be a deeper reason you don't think she your next POTUS. Spill!

What told you Obama is intellectually equipped to be POTUS: his teleprompter or his corpseman?
Another case of double standards.

Lets see, she gives an unscripted, 30 minute speech with no teleprompter, writes three talking points on her hand.. and we have a president who hasn't said three words in two years that weren't plastered on a piece of glass ten feet in front of his face.. and you're complaining about Palin? Oookay doookey Geo! Come on!

Unless you don't count the almost two hour debate he just had with the GOP that was off the top of his head.

Obama's budget proves to me that he's not intellectually qualified to be POTUS

28% per cent of America love her now, and they will love her even more, the more those dern liberals lay crap on her daily. Oh, and it is probably the same 28% that think Obama is bonifide member of the Socialist Party and that the world is about 6,000 years old--yada, yada..
She is really the "traveling" version of Rush and Glenn without the studio. She is just a money making machine for the Teabag/Republican Party that she represents (and DON'T TELL ME SHE DOESN'T)...humpf.

Based on your analysis of the Obama's budget, what areas do you disagree with? Which parts say he is intellectually unqualified?
She is only on page 210 right now..please give her time!

I can't believe that you find this a big no no. When Sarah speaks she speaks from the heart...perhaps those "nasty" notes on her hand were numbers that she didn't want to misquote or a point she wanted to be sure to make or a name she wanted to remember. A speech on a telepromoter doesn't allow the speaker to react to the crowd...it is just reading a moving screen, swinging your head from the left to the right. They even type up when to pause when to stop, when to smile. (Reminds me of a stage play)
Ever notice that with Obama...its all about his head, first to the left then to the right. He is unable to really stop the head movement and face the crowd while speaking. His eyes are always focused on the screen. When I watch, I find my head moving along with him. Sometimes I feel like a chicken doing the head dance that they do. That gadget prevents a speaker from going blank on stage. A note on a hand might do the same. Not sure either has to do with intellect. . I really don't care what they used to get the words out...I just want to hear the speech and judge it for what they are saying..... Are they speaking to me? Are they speaking from the heart? Are they telling the truth? Do they really want the best for me and my country? That's what matters to me.
I shudder to think of this person on the world stage- her demeanor, personality, intellect, experience, views- all wrong for the job of POTUS. Of course I also shudder that there are so many who don't care about how other countries view the US and think it is fine if everyone hates us. Ugh.
Republicans have much higher quality choices than Sarah Palin, and I am somewhat surprised when someone as fringy and quite frankly, coarse, as Palin, could possibly be considered for a position of such national and global importance.
What is wrong with the other possible Republican candidates that would possibly make them have to campaign against the likes of Sarah Palin? What am I missing here?

I think you miss an important part of my point. I do not believe the fact that she has a few words written in pen on her hand makes her a mental midget. But when you are delivering a speech attacking a much more talented orator for using a teleprompter you will look like a dumbbell when you write on your hands to remember things during that speech. And because that evidently didn't cross her mind- that adds to the list of things she has said/done that qualify her in my book as being intellectually unqualified to be POTUS.

Idlewind, I'm familiar with double standards. This isn't one. Look to Sarah Palin this week for a better example of what is a double standard-
Rahm Emanuel called certain liberal groups "f-ing retards". Pailin said the use of this term was "indecent and insensitive" and called for his firing.
So Rush Limbaugh gets wind of this and defends Emanuel saying-
"Our political correct society is acting like some giant insult’s taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards. I think their big news is he’s out there calling Obama’s number one supporters f’ing retards. So now there’s going to be a meeting. There’s going to be a retard summit at the White House."
What does Sarah do? She says that Rush's use of the word retard was acceptable because it was satire.
There's your double standard.
Did Obama mispronounce corps? Yep. Couple of times in a row during a speech. But he's no Palin.

To compare the intellect of Palin and Obama is frankly unfair to Palin. He's the Harvard alum who just faced off against a room of members of the opposing political party (without a teleprompter, Shopper) and won. And she is... Well- you already know.

She may not be the most intellectual person in the world but she has a lot more common sense than most. Get over it, Geo. She's going to be a political figure for a long time to come because she connects with the common working man and woman and does not present the elite image though, once again, she is far more elite than many of those who profess to be.

Sorry. I was using my Iphone for the post and it is hard to go back and proofread after you type. I went back and fixed it. Let's start another thread to point out the reasons I am a dumbbell. haha
This one belongs to Sarah...

So make up your mind, Andy. Is it good to be an elite? It didn't seem like it when your side used this word against Obama. But now you are saying Palin (hang on, I can't see the screen because I am laughing so hard) is the elite?
Republicans have much higher quality choices than Sarah Palin, and I am somewhat surprised when someone as fringy and quite frankly, coarse, as Palin, could possibly be considered for a position of such national and global importance.
If I were to think of the BEST GOP candidate - who's out there > Palin, Huckabee, Gingrich, etc..I would have to go with Brown. And I DOUBT he would pick Palin as a running mate. I don't think he'd be available for 2012 though....

Who cares?
She could be speaking Wasillian with an interpreter, have cliff notes on the bottom of heels, whip out a thesaurus during a speech, have it written by a bi-plane while she has tape on her mouth..... and she will still have her base of followers. The same for Obama.

If you don't care why bother posting in the thread?
Put more meat on the bone, what are the actual issues that disturb you about Palin, or is it just the fact that she writes on her hand and "seems" a bit cheerleadish? I am having a hard time deciphering what the real concern is here, buddy. I really have a neutral approach to all of this at the moment, but am interested in your take on it.
She is a hypocritical moron why? What are some facts, or is it just an overrall useless agenda, and that she should not be in politics? Is there any merit whatsoever to her being in politics or is everything she stands for worthless? Not challenging your assessment, just curious.

Basically she is everything that is wrong with politics - critical w/o offering solutions, devisive, unqualified/unaware, humorless, and pandering to a base who cannot see the forest for the trees.
She might be a good speaker/fundraiser/commentator for the GOP/Fox, but the thought of her actually being part of our government at such a critical time chills my blood.

BH, what is so difficult to decypher about my Palin concerns? I have no secret agenda. There are all too many smart and qualified individuals among Republicans, Democrats or other who should warrant any serious consideration to be POTUS before Sarah Palin. She lacks intellect based on her own merit.
This is not an attack based on some sort of dislike for repubs or the tea party movement.
I thought about something: I have given a lot of speeches and taught a lot of classes including continuing ed for professional licensure. I have never stood before my peers at a podium without an outline of my discussion and I have absolutely never read my script/speech. People can tell.
That said, I think we give the President (all of them) a break with utilizing a teleprompter. It's really no big deal. She wrote her outline on her hand. It's really no big deal.
If you don't care why bother posting in the thread?
I guess I am wondering why you care, because intellectually, I know you are above this. Some media outlets have it front page and center when there should be more important matters, not an outlet to wrap fish in. It's odd to me that those outlets think that they can sway her base into believing she is a hypocrite. Maybe we should care more about what they are not reporting, like Republicans worthy of our interest.

Except that she had just criticized someone else for doing something similar. That's always been my issue with her. That and her great ability to distort facts every-time she opens her mouth.
It was the ugly sentiment that Palin roused in the presidental ralleys that lost me forever for her and for McCains vote. I don't agree that she has common sense. She is cunning and will tell the mases what they want to hear to remain popular as most all politicians. If she had common sense she would not have left Alaska in the situation she did when she left her elected post there. The gas pipe line she always claimed fame over. Look it up now. Doubtful it will ever get built. Her flip-flop on Rush and the use of the word retarded was just one more in a long line of "do as I say, not as I do" that we can get used to from her. She's a politician, she is not a leader. The whole start a war with Iran deal. Wow, we know whose playbook she would play from if she needed a second term
Sorry, this entire response was not to you, Lynnie. I just got a little carried away.

He Won? I don't think so. Maybe he thought he won. Maybe you thought he won. I didn't realize it was a contest to win. I thought it was an invitation to meet with the Republicans and DISCUSS. I thought the Republicans were respectful in both their questions and comments. I thought Obama held his own.

I thought we all won when that happened - a great positive step forward for our squabbling fractiousness government to openly communicate - instead of via sound bites and attacks.
Would love to see many more of those....................and much less of all this partisan nonsense.
