Ok then, I will NOT be organizing a protest there then. The city and location for Rove's speech on Saturday will be his deserved punishment! His ultimate punishment and karmic shakedown will come later!

Re: Karl Rove to make Keynote Presentation in DeFuniak Springs
This is sad: to think that something as historically important as Chautauqua is giving an audience to the person who authored the most divisive political campaigns in the history of our country...the founders of Winter Chautauqua must be fuming in their graves!

Sadly, I won't make it tomorrow I got something more pressing to cover in the morning, so another writer will cover it. We were informed NO QUESTIONS.Just sit and listen. I'll meet Marlin Perkins trusty sidekick Jim and his birds of prey across the street later in the day.
So no TAZER for me tomorrow, but I could still be attacked by birds

Just wait...the Florida Chautauqua that reflects the founders' vision will be taking place the weekend of February 22.
Here's the site: http://floridachautauqua.org/
I know it's confusing...but bear with us! I'll post more details after this weekend is finished.

Can I have your press pass? I'm considering taking a walk down the street to listen...or I could clean the toilet.

Don't you go getting Tazed.........
I think your second choice would be the best use of time
You're welcome to borrow my Herald jacket as the sheriffs office is dragging getting our 2008 passes.
It's actually free and open to the public. Looking forward to the other assembly as well.

Wow! Great lineup!!!!!!!
Let me know if I can help out. I really want to attend the radio show.
Chuck had talked to me about the film fest last year but I was tied up with a show at O.W.
I know I'll cover it but there is a lot I want to attend as well. Good stuff.

Re: Karl Rove to make Keynote Presentation in DeFuniak Springs
Inhaled at Woodstock
Tear gassed in front of Nixon's White House
Never meet a Republican before I moved South
Am I a liberal?
Not if the above posters are.
Where have all of the friendly open minds gone.
People willing to listen to both sides.
Isn't that what Chautaugua is about?
Take off your liberal blinders and have a listen.
All of these catty screeds speak more about the posters than their target.
Mr. Rove's speech was a very surprising event.
Much more emotional than I would have ever thought.
At one point he had tears rolling down both cheeks.
As did more than a few in the crowd.
Someone in the audience had to give him a hankie.
This is not the uncaring man that his detractors try to portray.

I was supposed to cover this event but got something at the last minute that was more pressing. The email I got from another writer tonight said,
" The Karl Rove thing wasn't as bad as I thought it would... my new best friend from Southern Living asked him a question, and was told he couldn't 'cos he was from the press."It was terribly demeaning," the guy said later outside the church. (That is going in my article...)" So much for open minds

Jim Fowler from Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom
Jim Fowler is the former host of Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. He has presented information about wildlife and wilderness to the American public on television for more than 40 years. He first served with Marlin Perkins as co-host and later became host of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom; he also hosted Mutual of Omaha's Spirit of Adventure.
He got bumped for Rove. He was supposed to be a keynote speaker on naturalism. I went up to him this afternoon and gushed, "I grew up watching you wrestle the wild water buffalo and it's an honor to meet you." He loved it and after letting me take his pic his handlers ask to take one of us together. Super nice man with a calm caring aura about him. I've met a few "Famous" people before. Never wanted an autograph or a pic or anything, not my speed, but this guy was on the tellie in my house every weekend when I was a kid and a forefather to all the Crocodile hunters that followed him.
Super nice man

Yes, and I think it is the height of rude to bump this nice man for anyone...but especially for Rove! Where are the manners?

He is actually a very brilliant, well read man. He is also Satan incarnate. If he cried tears at Chautaugua, they were not real. Hopefully, he will be forced (he claimed executive priveledge--not sure if he still can) to testify on his part in the firing of all the "non-Republican" attorney generals in the Gonzales case, at least. To be continued,,,
