You may now embed videos in posts
All you have to do is enter the link to a video. No image tags or embed code is necessary, just the link that begins http://.....
Note: Not all video sites work, mostly the larger ones like Youtube.
Of course, post nothing inappropiate - thanks!

Too cool, when I shared the You Tube of Believe from Polar Express and came back later to get the link, I was like what happened the video is there.
 Magic.

OK- here is the plan. We shoot a video over New Year's, then we will post it. Without help. That is our challenge for 2008.

The wedding one is so cool. And Sir Mix-A-Lot, too. (Thankfully for me, some men like big butts, although that bride doesn't have much of one!) They were saying on The Today Show that wedding couples feel pressure to do dance routines at their receptions these days. I haven't seen that done yet. Of course, it takes a while for trends to reach the South.

Heck, don't mean to offend anyone, but I'm not even fond of "Contemporary Christian" music at weddings, as was performed at my brother's wedding (although Beach Jacket played most of the music, classical pieces on her violin). Everyone knew the words but us. I like hearing traditional, classical music. Our church won't even allow secular music at weddings.
As far as the reception goes, I can see both sides. I want my daughter to have fun at her wedding reception whenever that happens (mine was so traditional and boring), but on the other hand I'd also probably be embarrassed if she did a dance routine to "I like big butts, and I cannot lie ..."
I think the soundtrack to "My Best Friend's Wedding" has some perfect music for weddings and receptions. I love that movie.

I really enjoyed this as well WCW!!!!! My son played the sax for 3 years in Middle School, he gave it up when he went to High School this year. I wish I could talk him to picking it up again. I love the sound of the Sax!!!! Loved this video.

Re: You may now embed videos in posts
Those last two are great. The first is a real Honda commercial from England. It's the real thing. No computer graphics. 606 takes it took! You can read about it here...
http://www.snopes.com/photos/adverti...s/hondacog.asp
The second one is a British comedy group called the 118's, hence, the track outfit. That's their uniform so to speak...

Re: You may now embed videos in posts
I could seriously watch that video all day. My favorite part is the wipers "walking" across the floor, but the thing that amazes me is all the tiny, gentle movements. (How did they get the tires to roll uphill?)

Re: You may now embed videos in posts
In a much longer description, I read that they were weighted on one side...
They would actually lose takes because even the slightest breeze generated by somebody walking in the room was enough to mess some items up...
Crazy!

I've already taken a Benedryl tonight to help me sleep, but all it has done so far is make me go, "Huh?"
All I can think of is my dad describing a tire as only being flat on one side...

Re: You may now embed videos in posts
I liked the one you put up, too, and how you can kind of anticipate who's coming next by watching the eyes.
The more I see it, the more I think that the "beautiful" women aren't so different from all the other women out there.

That's so true, and one of the reasons I love the original... I see my mother's eyes in one, my niece's pout in another, my best friend's grin in another, etc. It blends so many beautiful, anonymous female faces that are all remarkably individual into this gorgeous portrait of femininity itself. The women in film is a little different in that way, because they are all icons and so easily recognizable, but somehow the effect is the same...

OMG. Thanks for causing me angst.
Bdarg LOVES Tom Waits. I am seeing a great birthday present for him- but I can't bear to listen to one recorded song, much less suffer through an entire concert.
What to do- does Tom Waits concert attendance fall under my list of wife duties?

That's a tough one. There's a few other wifely duties I'd rather do than sit thru a Tom Waits concert.

JDarg, If you need someone to go with Bdarg to see a Tom Waits concert, I might be available. I love me some Tom Waits.

Bird Strike......with an F-4 Phantom....F* Bomb Alert
As we have seen, bird strikes on aircraft can have catastropphic consequences. In 1982 while stationed in Korea ,one of my squadron mates asked me to take some videos of his last flight with the unit with his camcorder. At the time, the latest on consumer video equipment, the beast weighed about 20 lbs. I shot a few scenes of them taxing and taking off from Osan Air Base Korea. After their mission and upon returning to base the flight leader ingested a large buzzard in his right engine. They landed safely.
Being the theatrical ham that he was, he didn't lose a chance to lay claim to his "confirmed air-air kill". He is now a Captain with Northwest Airlines and entertaining passengers daily with his wit.
In the jets of that era we didn't have the sophisticated environmental control systems in our jets so on hot days we taxied with the canopies open. In some cases we waited until we got on the runway and would close them in unison as you can see at the beginning of this vid. Modern day fighters have better systems so the pilots all get about all cool and crisp with their canopies down.
The fact that I was able to get so close to the aircraft is amazing in today's age of hyper security.
