Whooping Cranes on the Way
This is just one of those amazing stories that does offer hope and it feels good to know that people care enough to help these birds and in the process, help all of humanity:

In January 2007 the Cranes stopped over for about 1 week just south of Lake Park GA at the GA FL line. We were fortunate to meet Joe Duff and Richard and the rest of their crew and enjoy a couple of meals with them. We had the whole crew to our home for a wonderful night of eating and learning the stories of the migration. And really enjoyed the take off and departure when they left Lake Park headed south for the completion of the migration.
They are truly dedicated people and we wish the best of luck this year. Emmett Pinkston

Oh, that must have been so cool...I was fortunate enough to see a flock in Alaska one time. They were beautiful and the sound they made as they were approaching is like nothing else I have ever heard.
