No. Lake Powell is in Bay County. Camp Creek lake is about eight miles west on highway 30-A. (Lake Powell is sometimes called Phillip's Inlet)

Part of Lake Powell is still in Walton County. The entire lake was in Walton County when Walton County was founded in 1824.

Signs wanted
Wouldn't it be great if the lakes had road signs like the commercial developments do? Here we have these rare coastal dune lakes. Why not mark them clearly so people know what they are seeing? Same with the forests and parks. Eastern Lake used to have two signs, but one got knocked down when building the pedestrian bypass and has not been replaced.

I would agree with this if we could get rid of the 45,000 unnecessary signs currently on "Scenic 30A". As of now I have to say "NO MORE SIGNS PLEASE"!!!!!!

Hmm, I've never thought of them that way. I'm trying to imagine 30A with 45,000 less signs. Too bad there still would be all the buildings. What signs are the most unnecessary?

IMHO, most of the signs are unnnecessary. There are still some big blue monster TDC signs and I think a lot of the bike path signs are redundant and unnecessary. There are so many ways the appearance of 30-A could be improved. (However, back to your original point, some tasteful, small, quaint ,rustic signs naming each of the lakes might be quite nice.)

I may be exaggerating just a tad.
Once you start looking you see a lot of unneeded signs. Many of them "official" state or county signs. Certainly the bike path signs, many of which are confusing and likely to cause injury. Some people will bike right into them. There are a lot of visiting bike riders that don't ride much or are not paying attention. Wham!!!

I just saw a bike path sign today near Eastern Lake explaining bike path etiquette. I'm now patiently waiting for the chance to actually see someone stopped to read it.

I'm not sure the bike path needs any signs. It should be just intuitive. All it really needs is clearly marked boundaries and crosswalks.

Are you kidding? People can't figure it out WITH ALL THE SIGNS!!!
If you want a laugh, read the etiquette sign and then assess how well the users are following them.

I stopped to read one of the bike path etiquette signs once when they were new and had someone else on a bike ride into me!
