White Florida Squirrel
Okay I saw my first white squirrel on Tuesday on the other side of Apalachicola. I have seen albino squirrels before, but never a white one. Anyone spotted any in sowal?

Cool. Every once in a while, life throws out a crazy gene, and sometimes it catches on beautifully. I could see the need for the white camouflage around our white beaches. I remember seeing black squirrels all over the place when I was in school at Michigan State.
Several weeks ago, I saw a bone-white spider on the white beach sand in Grayton Beach State Park. I had never seen a white spider before that day.

I got a couple of the pictures on facebook, gonna upload here this weekend. In one day I got to see a white squirrel, a bald eagle eating a sand crab, and the biggest black bear I had ever seen in the wild. All of this over by a St. Joe development called Summer Place in St. Teresa. Shame only the squirrel sat still long enough for photos. Nice to still see part of old Florida is left, at least the way I remember it growing up.

I think the black squirrels are a mid-Michigan thing. It's all we had on campus when I was at Albion not too far south of there, and if you went just a little west to Ann Arbor, the squirrels were back to traditional coloring again, although about 50% bigger than what you get down here and agressive as heck because so many people fed them.
