Management Plans for Walton County's Coastal Dune Lakes
When: Tuesday, February 05, 2008, 9:00-11:00am and/or 1:00-3:00pm, Central Time
Where: Coastal Branch Library, 437 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

The Walton County Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board in conjunction with the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance and the University of Florida’s Florida LAKEWATCH Program will hold two public meetings on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at the Coastal Branch Library in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
The first meeting will be a planning session with the Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board, the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance, the University of Florida’s Florida LAKEWATCH Program, Walton County Planning staff, and a representative of the Walton County Board of County Commissioners. This is a planning session to review the current draft of the Citizen Issue’s Report and will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
The second meeting will be a public workshop with for the general public to review and comment on the Citizen Issue’s Report. This is a public workshop to ensure that all citizen issues will be incorporated into the final draft of the Coastal Dune Lake Management Plan. This workshop will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
Copies of the current draft of the Citizen Report, which will be used to generate the Coastal Dune Lake Management Plan, may be obtained by phone, email, or letter by contacting:

I have the report. It puts together reports from the separate meetings for each lake. The people who started this planning (Phillip Ellis and Scott Jackson) have left their jobs. New people are carrying on. I hope everyone who cares about our dune lakes and the Choctawhatchee Basin watershed shows up at the meeting to help plan our future.

Today, Thursday, October 23, 2008 LAKEWATCH will present the final Coastal Dune Lakes Management Plan at the Coastal Dune Lakes Advisory Board at 9 a.m. CST at the Coastal Branch Library in SoWal. The CDLAB may then decide on taking it to the Board of County Commissioners for action.
