Young singer looking to jam

My daughter who is 16 is moving down here after two years in the outskirts of Chicago with her dad.
She has an amazing voice and I hope to hook her up with some local bands/jam sessions/musicians.
She has played out a few times and plans to make this her life.
She was raised on bluegrass, folk and old rock and then made a switch to country. Basically she will sing anything.

Here is a song she wrote early this year. My son played her a bass line and she sent us the song a couple of days later.

We will also be looking for a good guitar teacher.

Hope she will like living here. My son would love to jam with her since two of his favorite singing partners are leaving for college in south Florida next month. Like your daughter, he does a lot of different genres of music but loves to write. He has done a couple of nights at Amavida. Did do some guitar teaching for a class at SWHS. Very shy but loves music and relates to others who are dedicated musicians. Let me know when she gets here and maybe you can bring her over for a welcome jam.

Give Jimmy Ward a call. He is the music teacher at Seaside Neighborhood School and from what I understand, he is as good a teacher as you could hope to find. He has a very extensive background having played with many very famous musicians and the kids seem to love him as he is great with every level of musician. Sorry I don't have the number but contact the school and they will give it to you.

At Amavida, we would welcome her to play on our deck on Wenedsay or Staurday nights. Our stage is always open to local singer/songwriters in our area. Your daughter would be a great fit to play at this location and it would be great to share here talents with our community.

Regarding guitar lessons, Jimmy Ward is terrific and we have his contact information at Amavida Seaside. Phyillis Hastings is also a great voice coach that teaches in the area.
