Transect Planning Forum -- Thursday, June 25
The Democratic Womens' Club Forum discussion for June will be focusing on the issue of Transect Planning. The meeting will be open to the public, as always, and is one in a series of very informative, issues education events the Women's Club is sponsoring this year.
The meeting will be held at the Coastal Branch Library meeting room on June 25th at 2:00 p.m. Mark Schnell, a town planner and one of the local citizens who came together to develop the plan, will give a presentation on the subject. Mark's presentation takes the complex subject and breaks down its substantial benefits for those of us who are not urban planners, architects, or administrators.
Transect planning will enable Walton County to develop in a sustainable, predictable path of growth. A smart, transparent code is the first step toward breaking the choke hold of land developers on local politics.
Bring a friend -- regardless of political persuasion -- and let's make sure every citizen of Walton County understands the importance of adopting a smart, clear, transparent code.

If this is a ppt can you link it up on the DEC website so someone could download it. I work during the day, so very hard to get to this sort of stuff.

This is an excellent program and extremely well presented by Mark Schnell. If you are the least interested in well planned, esthetic and enjoyable living in South Walton, you will be interested in this presentation. It may not be the total answer but it has some wonderful attributes to its credit.

We do plan to make some of it available online, but it's worth attending because we will be having a panel of people to discuss and answer questions after the presentation. Having seen the presentation, I still find myself unable to answer questions when people ask me about the details. I'm looking forward to learning as much as everyone else.

I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it myself; people posting on this thread that I least expected. It's nice to see the partisanship on these types of issues and the desire to learn more.
So, who broke something?
