I'm not just another idiot tourist.... :)

My wife & 2 1/2 year old son are headed back to y'alls little slice of heaven in mid August. We're staying in Seacrest & have stayed in various places on the Emerald Coast for many years. This is our fist time with our toddler son so I wanted to reach out to you & inquire about some of the best family friendly dining spots as well as some kid friendly activities (should he need a break from the sun & surf!)

We're really looking forward to our visit....thanks in advance for all of your help!

Well, we may just see you down there! We'll be there in August with our 6 yr old and 3 yr old. There is a great shady playground in Rosemary that is good for toddlers -- it's completely enclosed and lots of shade. The only problem is finding it b/c it's hidden by the shade trees. Ask around. We also love to bike to the butterfly park in Rosemary. Our kids like to try to be the first to spot a butterfly.

We also spend a lot time in Gigi's store in Rosemary. The kids love to watch the train. (And of course we always let them pick out a toy!)

Alys beach has a great playgroune with slides, swings, and the famous grass mountain. I am not sure why it is soo fun, but my boys will climb that mountain for hours.

The Fountains in Seacrest are great. Our kids also like to bike around. We usually hit an outdoor concert or movie. Even if we can't stay until the movie starts, it's fun for the kids to play with the other kids that have gathered for it!

Great advice from tis. We'll be there in August too, by the way!

For dining, we love to go to Shades at the Loop and I am always happy to grab something at Cowgirl Kitchen in Rosemary. Our absolute new fave is the Pizza Bar in Seaside. Family friendly, reasonably priced and fantastic food. Go early!

I like the Sunday night concerts at the Seacrest pool, too. The kids always have a good time. Don't know how late they will go this year.
