Hello beautiful SoWal,

I'm a life long resident of this area and love it deeply...I'm never leaving :) I'd surely die without the beach! On bad days it is my safe haven. I've just joined the SoWal website and I have this somewhat annoying little message telling me to introduce myself....so here I am! :)

I really enjoy reading everyone's thoughts....it gives a real insight on what tourists, and locals alike, really think about this area; and also keeps me updated on local events. Which, might I add that many natives forget about. I think we get so enthralled in the beauty of the area that we forget about the fun festivals and local happenings that go on right here in our own neighborhood. Man! Life is so good in SoWal!

I think you are right that sometimes we forget to mention the fun festivals and happenings around us, but at least Kurt keeps us up on it. At the bottom of the SoWal Forum Page is the calendar for events.
