Well Hello there.
Hi all.
I'm an English chap and recently arrived (after a lengthy visa process) to be with my wife Natalie.
We're new to the area and both aiming to live a simple, low impact, uncluttered lifestyle with meaningful work in a place we enjoy. So far, due to some stunning choices by Nat, we are doing quite well. Natalie works up at the Montessouri school and absolutely loves what she does and you'd struggle to beat 30A for location.
I’ve spent most of my life in the hub-bub of one land locked city or another and have had my fill of crime, pollution, noise and the inevitable pressure cooking you get with a half million people living on top of one another. So a small community on the water in a picture postcard location is an agreeable change. It may take a while to get used to leaving doors unlocked and not having to have eyes in the back of my head.
I’m not sure what I’ll do now I’m here. It’s low season and on the cusp of a recession so perhaps more immediate gainful employment is more important than indulging one of my favourite past times – photography. I may have to shelve that for later though it's so beautiful here it would be a shame.
In the past I've supported IT networks for a corporation, tended bar, studied for a BA in English Literature and Media, dealt roulette and cards in Nevada, worked construction all over, travelled Europe in a VW bus with my new bride, wandered around the USA and the southern hemisphere and most recently ran my own business refurbishing inner city houses to flip.
I guess one of the best things bout a big change is not knowing what will happen next. Of course one of the worst things about a big change is also not knowing what will happen next…
Have a nice day! K

Unfortunately I can offer you no help whatsoever on the employment front, but . The forum suddenly seems a bit more civilized somehow.

Welcome!!! We live around the corner from the school, what a great place to go to work every day. (I work from my house so I should know). As for you, just keep looking, something is bound to come up, this can't last forever. At leaset you have diverse work experience, there is a church under construction next to the school, maybe they need help?

Welcome. Loved the "Trouping of the Colors" last time I was on the other side of the pond.

 ,
I wouldn't go off leaving your house unlocked and keep at least one eye open in the back of your head. This is paradise, but thugs visit us too...

Boddingtons
As I am enjoying a Boddingtons, I wish you welcome. I hope you have a blessed stay and I must ask you; do you enjoy the late sitcom "the prisoner"? Just curious...

Glad to have you. Love British tea, and John Cleese for President.
