Avid professional lurker!
Hi all! I'm from St. Louis, and found this site after Hurricane Dennis. Have been hooked ever since. We've been coming to Seagrove since '01, and love it there. My favorite place is Deer Creek State Park, followed closely by Cerulean Park in Watercolor. When I come to the beach, I also pick up trash very early in the morning. It always amazes me how people think it's OK to leave all their water bottles, beer cans, etc on that beautiful beach, and not think twice about it. I applaud all of you who care and campaign to keep it pristine. Well, that was my first post! That wasn't so hard, and now I hope the notice at the top of the page will go away about never posting!!

pretty cool you take the time to notice & care....its probably the anguish of that long walkover....too bad theres not parking on the beach.
Hang out long enough & you'll be amazed at the number of tourists unable to read the 'stay off dunes' signs. sometimes having too much money gives ya that 'false entitlement' issue' of crapping in others back yards.

Okay, I guess I should come out of lurk mode also: I'm another St. Louisan hinding in the background and wishing I was still at the beach. We were there in June and hope to be back next year (if not sooner).

PS -- I think there is a way that you can "cloak" yourself and not be seen as being on line.

When I wear my Seagrove Beach t-shirt, no comments. I got a Destin sweatshirt over Spring Break, and when I wear that around STL, I get lots of comments and conversation about Destin. I turned some neighbors/friends on to Sowal last Fall, and they loved it....and I didn't think they would. Go figure! --MoMo

Any Mizzou grads out there as well? Every now and then I catch a sticker on the back of someone's car or spot a Mizzou shirt along the bike trail on 30A but not too many. I see more Cardinals logos than anything else, although if our football team can hold its own again this year maybe that will change. Last year I was so happy - my hubby thinks Auburn is the greatest when it comes to football and I got to finally show him up with Mizzou.

I sure hope they can repeat. I did get a little nervous when I spotted them on last weeks cover of SI. That is never a good thing.
