I did the whole shebang last month, ultra sound, then mammo.
Whew.
Now that I"M FIFTY ONE YEARS OLD I need to get the colonoscopy.
Johnrudy, a friend said today she thinks there should be a "one-stop shop" for everything. That a woman should be able to go in, get a Pap smear, mammogram, massage and pedi at one place. Brilliant!

Yep, had my baseline at 35, and have had Mammo every year since. My time is in October of every year. My mother, maternal aunt, and several friends had breast cancer so I do not take it lightly. Go get those Mammos ladies!!!!!

Did anyone go digital? It is a newer mammogram. I need one and was going to check out the digital.
yes! just had a digital mam two days ago. it's a world of difference. yes, you get stretched and flattened, but not too bad, and not painful at all. Sacred Heart Hospital has offered digital for about 3 years. love it. and the image is much better as well, they no longer call me back for further exam and scare the heck out of me every other time.

I just told Toots the other day that we should all ask for wallet sizes.
righto. mangy wanted me to email her my mammo pix. OMG. maybe I can have sacred heart email them to me and then I'll post 'em. I doubt there is enough space on the board to post one pic of my boob stretched out to infinity and beyond.

Yes, the visual of her tucking them in her jeans afterward was funny. But I am glad that she did it and all is aok.
On a more serious note, it seems like I am getting signals to go. First a letter from insurance company reminding me, then Toots and now Pea's thread. I had one scheduled last year and had to cancel because it conflicted with another doctors appt. Then couldn't get another appt. for 1 month later. Said I would call back and didn't. So tomorrow, first thing, I am making an appt and y'all can harass me until I do.

Re: Mammogram PSA
Heck, I manage to go more than once a year. I am so paranoid about this.
Oh, and colonoscopies aren't bad. They're over before you think they've started because of the Versed they give you. It's just the day before when you have to spend time "cleansing" that's gross. It's worth it for the Versed. I love that drug -- heck, when I'm on it, I love everyone -- they tease me because I tell the doctor and the nurses over and over how much I love them. Sometimes its effects last for several days -- they have to give me an extra dose because I'm so hyper.
Did you resolve to get a mammogram this year? I had one today. Your turn.
got mine last week

our mammos are all digital now. i didn't notice any difference in the squish factor, but then again, i have never found them to be painful.
