Yes, we are in the back of a small cove (no boat traffic!) We love the place. Been there for 20 years or so. -

Great job on the dock! We have to have a steel or aluminum floating dock because of the water level changes on the river. It can rise 20' in the winter

The lake level drops some in the winter so we have a floating dock out at the end. It slides up and down on two poles. It works great.

It probably rips the poles out of their footings if the water gets up that high.

Same thing kept happening to us when the lake would rise in the spring time. The chains were binding on the poles. When the water starts to drop in the fall, we unhook it and pull it around to the bank. When the water goes down, the floating dock sits on the bank and floats back off in the spring.
