Gulf Coast Flora & Fauna 101

I would like to learn the names of the most common flora & fauna along the SoWal coast. What are those little birds? Sandpipers or sanderlings? What 's the difference between a gull & a tern? What are the different names of the different types of sea weed/grass? What do you call those little shells? Periwinkle?

Can anyone on this forum point me to useful web sites, field guides, etc.

Any/all advice would be appreciated.

Wanted: Long Term Rental for 2 Needed ASAP

We are a couple moving to the area in the next few days. We need a long term rental as soon as possible. We would prefer a place with at least 2 bedrooms but the right 1 bedroom place would do as well. We would like to be on or near 30A, but will also consider places closer to Destin. I smoked some pork butts (hickory and oak), chilled some watermelons made some beans and slaw for a little picnic by the Lilly Pond and will be cookings some ribs and chicken on the grill today.

So come on over to the house It's gonna be a good time.
