Hello Again Friends and Family,

My favorite day of the year is almost here and in honor of it I want to take this moment to tell you all how much we appreciate your support of our bar...

Not a birthday nor a memorial of a death, not a saint nor or president, not a planet or a demographic, none of these causes are more fulfilling in my mind than the cause of just being thankful. Today is a great day to be alive and the third Thursday of every November, we collectively give thanks for all those days and all the things we are blessed by during those days.

At La Botana, we are truly thankful for those of you who repeatedly visit us and repeatedly recommend us to more potential La B faithful. It is due to your support that our slogan remains "where LOCALS see FRIENDS feel LOVE drink WINE!" and to show our gratitude we will be having another LOCAL APPRECIATION PARTY the day after Thanksgiving, November 27th 2009 which will include live music by La B's most regular act Kyle LaMonica while enjoying complimentary botana from our new Chef Jonathan Kendrick, the first release of our 2010 FRIEND Card, and a raffle with chances to win bottles of wine and other great prizes!

30A Radiothon in Two Weeks

Our 3rd Annual 30A Radiothon is December 4th at noon through December 5th at noon.
Our goal this year is $15,000!!!

We need your help to stay on the air another year! 30A Radio is a not for profit 501(3)c organization that relies totally on our listener�s support! Join us for what is sure to be an exciting 24 hours of 30A Radio.
For starters, the station needs new equipment to keep things running smoothly. Danny, our Operations Manager, needs a computer that won't crash every time he does remote work on the station�s studio. Also, some of our ancient broadcast gear dates back to WWII, and is on it�s last leg. We would like to bring our sonic integrity up to date for all of our faithful listeners. And we have our new Web/Podcast site we would like to continue to provide for you, as well.

We also need our own live, on location DJ equipment. Every time we do a live remote we have to borrow a PA system. Mark Stroop and John R (thank you for being the great supporters of 30A Radio that you have been) have always been there for us with loaner equipment. But, as we do more community events, they may not always be able to provide us with help.

We invite you to browse the new 30A Radio Website and help us out in any way you are able. We are offering some pretty competitive prices on some very cool stuff.

The point is, a station as good as ours takes a few bucks to keep running smoothly. Help us continue to be there for you. Any donation is appreciated.

Hi Sowal...
I don't usually do family photograph, I contract typically with magazines, books, etc. However, I have the next few months off and I have had a few friends ask me to photograph their family or pets for the holidays and I really enjoyed it. So, I thought I would offer my services to the locals and guests of Sowal for the holidays.

Nothing expensive, I was thinking 80.00 for a couple of rolls and we could shoot on the beach or at a festive location. I would give you all the photos 4X6 or if you would like a large portrait size that's fine it is not very expensive to have printed.

Turn on the Town - Holiday Happenings at Seaside

Combine the small-town atmosphere of a beach community parade, throw in a dash of Santa Claus, and mix with the official lighting of a remarkable town on Florida�s Emerald Coast, and you have the perfect makings to kick off the Holiday season in beautiful Seaside. It's Turn on the Town on Saturday, November 28th!

The parade begins at 4PM at the Seagrove Plaza and proceeds west to the town of Seaside. At 5PM, it�s party time in the amphitheater with holiday festivities and, of course, pictures with the jolly-bearded one. Soon, the master of ceremonies asks all the kids to the stage to sing to the crowd of smiling faces, and after a few versus of jingle bells, the count down begins in unison to �Turn on the Town.� With one switch the new 24' Christmas Tree and the beautiful oaks along 30A will light up signaling the start of our holiday season.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for pictures with the entire family following the tree lighting until 8:30PM.

Lunch at Basmati's in BMB

I have been a fan of the food at Basmati's Asian Cuisine in Blue Mountain Beach for many years, but before today had never enjoyed their lunch. WOW, they have a wonderful selection of items on the menu (at reasonable prices) and I would certainly recommend everything. And to top it all off, the intimate setting that is created in the evening is even more beautiful during the day with views of the lake on the patio.

Highly recommended!

2009 Radiothon for WTHA, 30-A Radio

So, the 2009 Radiothon is rapidly drawing near.

This year, we're taking a slightly different approach:

The time has arrived for the annual WTHA Radiothon! This event is the primary fundraiser for your community radio station.

This year, you have to opportunity to support the station, promote your business, or cause, or yourself, and have a great time!

For $100, you can fully describe your business and your support for 30-A Radio. Host your own mini show. Play your favorite songs, and encourage donations to 30-A Radio on your behalf. You can plan on being in the studio LIVE for the RadioThon, or you can pre-record your spot and select the air time (based on availability)

Dairyland Race Track in Kenosha WI

The Dairland Dog Track in Kenosha Wisconsin is closing December 31st and there are hundreds of Greyhounds up for adoption...for anyone who may be interested:

(11/19/2009) - DGP Important Closing - Dog Status Wisconsin State law provides that the greyhounds are to be adopted to new homes, sent to another racetrack for racing purposes or returned to their owners. Our kennel compound will remain open until all greyhounds are properly placed.We do not know at this current time how many greyhounds in total will become available for adoption until we finish racing on December 31st, 2009.We do currently have greyhounds available for adoption in our adoption center. You are more than welcome to fill out an application at Dairyland or online at our website Dairyland Greyhound Park under the adoption tab at the top of the webpage
