Stinky's Fish Camp "Still on Fire" (figuratively)
Everyone likely remembers that Lake Place caught fire a couple of years ago, and was temporarily replaced by it's sister restaurant, Stinky's Fish Camp. Since then, Lake Place was rebuilt and both places are staying busy. We decided to return to Stinky's for good food and great venue, for a late lunch this past weekend. You know you are in a good restaurant when it smells like heaven when you enter the door. I still love the casual feeling of the restaurant, the views of the lake are great, the service is very good and sincere, food is served in a timely fashion, and the the food is top-notch. I highly recommend the burgers (as they are tied for a two place tie for best burger in South Walton in my opinion) and the fried shrimp is THE best on 30A, and the smoked tarter sauce that comes with it is perfect! Oh, yes, and the Blackberry pie was fantastic with a side of ice cream.
Thanks Jim and Stinky's staff for having such a great restaurant for us.

Do you know how Lake Place is now? Have asked a couple of times, little response. seems weird to me---was one of best and now "no discussion"??

Stinky's Fish Camp
What a success story this place is. They are slammed! I wish every restaurant on 30-A could enjoy this kind of business. We have only been able to come in once.....but after the summer season we'll try again.

Took my mother to Stinkys last weekend when she was up visiting and it was amazing! The free valet parking was a nice start to a wonderful evening. All I have to say is, Stinky's Stew is the ambrosia of the gods! The music was a little loud though, making casual conversation difficult. The food though was delicious and our waitress very attentive. The stew was so fresh and tasty and I actually had trouble finishing it all and I have a very hearty appetite. My daughter had the chiken fingers and I appreciated the childrens menu being available, The three of us ate very well for under 55 dollars! This is currently my favorite place to eat on 30a! :)

Hi Gidget!
Well, the stew comes in a very deep bowl. I know for certainty that there where fresh oysters and fish aplenty along with mussels, jumbo shrimp and an entire half of a king crab coming up from the bottom with the legs artfully draped over the side! lol The broth was simply amazing and I am actually drooling just thinking about it! There was also a fried crab bread thingie on the side as well that was delicious. I think I need to go again soon!

Here is a photo of Stinky's Stew from our last visit - it is sublime!
And the corn was fresh and sweet, even though it was February.
