the $4.00 breakfast
you gotta be kiddin me - been to bar rouge two mornings in a row after successfully slaying pompano and the breakfast is badass!!
4 bucks gets you two perfectly cooked eggs, taters or grits, toast or english and choice of meat. ridiculous. you can hardly make it at home for that.
rock on oli
oh - and the servers are cheery and oli's pop runs the show and plays cool classical music. why go anywhere else.

Re: the $4.00 breakfast
Wow! That's like Freeport Cafe prices. I'll have to give it a go. Wonder if they are open on Easter morning?

Re: the $4.00 breakfast
well i have taken my visiting peeps 4 out of five mornings for breakfast and have eaten my way through most of the menu and the western omelette this morning was bangin. the shrooms and onions and peppers were actually caramelized properly and intense little tidbits of dried tomato made it versus the typical anemic raw veggies that un-trained cooks put in omelettes. and speaking of the coffee thread recently - community coffee is hard to beat for a non "artisan/boutique" roaster. my girl cynthia who represents community coffee says it's all fair trade as well and i wouldn't drink any coffee that wasn't as per hydro-stan. and of course my musical horizons are continuing to expand with mr. louis selections - sounded kinda like some sort of spanish-flamenco opera this morning - lovin it!!

You will if you get hungry enough. They smell so good frying up. Watch out for the pickled pigs' feet.
