Adventure board takes a paddle in Hogtown Bayou

The creative genius of Jeff Archer and Tom Losee, of local YOLO Board fame have just come up with a new toy to paddle – the YOLO Yak. The YOLO YAK is the first of its kind hybrid stand-up paddleboard/kayak.
Tapping into a new facet of their already popular line of boards, the YOLO Yak now offers an experience even the novice paddler can enjoy. The Yak’s stability in the water provides the perfect board for the beginner young and old, as there is virtually no learning curve.
The durable polyethylene construction provides more versatility than fiberglass boards. The Yak can be easily maneuvered in lakes, bayous or waters where obstructions such as logs may otherwise have the potential to ding a fiberglass board.
Designed as a full adventure board, the 11’10’’ long 33” wide YOLO Yak has a recessed deck to facilitate better stability for a variety of water pursuits such as fishing, crabbing, beginner surfing or flat water paddling.
The Yak comes rigged with a front bungee tie-down system, molded-in keel system, foam traction pad and both side and rear handles. Options include flush rod holders, and the SUP Complete Fishing System, which includes a fishing box, unique pole holders with tie downs and a tackle gear bag.
Lots of action is in store for the YOLO Yak, with spring fishing tournaments planned in South Walton and the surrounding area. For folks interested in entering a tournament who don’t yet own a Yak, boards will be available for use at the upcoming events.
Stay tuned to www.WaltonOutdoors.com for upcoming tournament dates and information, or go to www.YOLOboard.com for more information about the YOLO Yak and their line of paddle boards.

About YOLO Board
Founded by business partners Tom Losee and Jeff Archer in 2006, YOLO Board LLC is a locally owned hybrid-style stand-up paddle board (SUP) company based in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. Aptly named for the mantra, “You Only Live Once,” the company has quickly gained the reputation along the Emerald Coast and beyond as the custom paddleboard of choice. The company manufactures four types of boards: the “Original YOLO,” the “YOLO Yak,” the “YOLO Express” and the “YOLO Explorer.” YOLO Board was voted “Best Toy” by the September/October 2008 issue of Garden & Gun magazine. Rentals, lessons, corporate and team building packages and a complete array of YOLO accessories are available. For more information, visit www.yoloboard.com or call 850.622.5760.
