A Good Start – Bud & Alley’s PIZZA BAR – Seaside FL
It is a bit early for me to sample the food at a restaurant which has been open for only one day, but I know the Dave, the owner of this new restaurant, and a friend invited me to lunch, so I don’t know how lunch could go wrong. After getting the full tour of the long-awaited Bud & Alley’s PIZZA BAR by the owner himself, I have a feeling that this restaurant will be an awesome place to enjoy some good food, a glass of wine, or a cold beer. The new covered deck, still under construction, is about as close to the Gulf as dining gets in South Walton. I could see the waves breaking in the distance, while standing on the new deck – my idea of perfection!
Yes, a few years ago, this was another pizza place, but let me assure you, this is a different restaurant. The long community-style dining tables outside are a welcome sight. The two small buildings are a painted a very soft green, and the metal seating is painted a nice contrasting orange, and I really like the contrast of color. I felt right at home. One of the buildings hosts a nice bar, and the other is the kitchen, with the only brick pizza oven that I can think of in South Walton. Some dining is available inside each of these small buildings, but much of the seating will be outside, under roof, but fairly open otherwise.
