Yesterday as I was leaving my driveway and heading to a friend's house and I saw a pygmy rattler on my street. I got out and snapped a couple pics and shot some video with my little camera.

Then as I was procurring something to move the snake off of the road I noticed a man and his dog walking toward me. I saw him looking down at the rattler, or so I thought, until suddenly I realized he was about to walk directly over it.

Sure enough the dog stepped almost directly on it, maybe an inch or so away. I quickly and abruptly yelled to the guy to watch out for the snake. He jumped up and he too landed inches from the snake. The rattler actually snapped at the man and his dog with a couple swift strikes as they passed over but thankfully the snake did not connect.

More nature... Today I golfed at Shalimar Pointe in Fort Walton and saw some interesting things as well. I saw a hawk grab a squirrel and fly away with it. Sorry, I didn't have my camera with me.

Btw, I also came within an inch and a half from a hole in one. It was beautiful to watch.

Anyway, I hope the little video I prepared comes through. It shows the pygmy rattler I saw plus has other pics of snakes from the area and some other random pics as well.

Let's see. The video did not work because it said I needed a 'security token'. So I'll try to just put in a link. Here it is
