Adopt a Mile

Okay, I have adopted mile 6-7 on Hwy. 30A. Yesterday and today both, I walked the dogs with a trash bag. I thought yesterday when I came back home with a full bag that I had picked all of the trash up, but today I came home with another trash bag. What Up with that? Let's all adopt just one mile. Name your mile and let's keep this area clean and beautiful.
Number one item found are beer cans and cigarette packs. Can we not throw these out properly? Quit trying to hide behind your problem and then just tossing them out of your car windows. You know drinking and driving is still against the law in this state and every state.
Why not instead go to one of your favorite watering holes in the area and order a beer there? Let's all leave this place a little better than what we found it.
By the way, miles 6-7 look great! Enjoy the beautification.

Hey Kelly. I didn't know you were a Sowaller. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Litter is a huge issue. Too bad we don't have more public recepticles, although I am not sure they would get used. I am always amazed when they mow the right of ways. The grass is nice and tidy but there are bits of chopped up garbage everywhere. It seems like taking care of ones own trash would be pretty simple but... Perhaps we need more community clean up days. Keep up the great and important work!Posted 04-21-2009 at 06:53 PM by Groovegirls
