Sunshine and Two Tones

Posted 03-25-2009 at 10:09 AM by eszra

Sunshine - Navarre, FL

The sun breaks through heavy clouds. Its always great to get elements that compliment eachother, like how the grass compliments the sun.

Radiance TT - Navarre, FL

I've always had a love of black and white art, so lately I've been going back through some of my work and rethinking it in less colorfull terms.

Shrub TT - Navarre, FL

Most of my re-imaging is not technically black and white or greyscale, but what is refered to as two tone. So you will see slight or large ammount of color tones or tints present.

Gray Surrender, Gateway, Barb Weed

Posted 03-14-2009 at 06:13 PM by eszra

Gray Surrender - Navarre, FL
So much depth! I love this piece. The orange rock stands out well in the foreground and is complimented well by the distant color on the horizon.
The Symphony can be seen at the distant point. I often inadvertently get this ship in the picture.

Gateway - Navarre, FL
A dramatic blue sky reflected in the small stream besidea green fence.
Another one for my sea wall series. You can see an explanation of the different ways I've photographed this same scene and made it appear visually different.

Barb Weed - Navarre, FL
A break in the small sea wall. The hill is eroding here without the wall to hold it up anymore. The colored layers in the sky are interesting as well as the red and orange in the grass that is echoed above the distant horizon.

Light, Heaven's Wake, and The Eternal

Light - Navarre, FL

This piece is similar to my work "Fractured":

It was taken in the same location on the same evening. Actually, the sun barely moved between the two shots, the clouds were moving very quickly however.
Light is another piece for my ongoing Sea Wall series. Its a more traditional panoramic then most of my images. I'm calling it "Light" because of the lighthouse looking stream of light shooting out to the right of the sun.

Heaven's Wake - Gulf Breeze / Pensacola, FL

This was taken at the 3 mile bridge on the Gulf Breeze side. I find the cloud display spectacular and like the abrupt yellow to orange/peach transition.

The Eternal - Navarre, FL

The Symphony which still sits near Navarre bridge, to the dismay of some of the locals (I like the ship however). Some others of this ship:

A Painting and New 30A Landscapes

Blue Moon by Lora Duguay (click for larger image)

Blue Moon Rising by Eszra

The top is a painting by Lora Duguay of one of my photographic pieces "Blue Moon Rising". I found this very flattering and think she did a wonderful job. Not an exact copy and I like her composition with the blades of grass in the foreground. I actually lost the printable file back when my drive crashed and had no problem giving permission.

Evening Reflection - Hwy 30a, FL

I've passed this spot several times before on Hwy 30a and finally found the right lighting.

Walkway - Watercolor, FL

This walkway is hidden behind a street side restaurant across from Watercolor's center park. Later on the same day as the previous.

One Foggy Morning

Posted 02-03-2009 at 09:20 PM by eszra

Around the Bend - Navarre, FL

This scene, with the clear stream by the green fence, is found by Lark's Nest coffee shop. You can drive by it on 98 a million times and never see it do to the sea wall. I'm glad I stumbled upon it, small, seemingly insignificant places like this one tend to be photographic gems to me. More on that another time.

Foggy Cove - Navarre, FL

This was a slightly foggy morning. The fog was well contained upon the barrier land in the distance, cloaking it so you are unaware of its presence. This shot was taken from atop the walkway which runs from the Children's Park under Navarre bridge.
