Scenic 30A is full of bikes and people riding them everywhere they go. They ride to the beach, to the restaurant, to the market, and home! It's pretty unusual really, compared most places in the U.S. It sure is a good thing though. Family and friends are having so much fun, you would think they had never been on a bike before!

Allright, we know vinyl is back, and the labels are getting hip to it. Capitol has started the 'Back to Black' campaign, reissuing classic titles on 180-gram vinyl, and complete with original artwork. Here are some of the titles I've received so far:
Allman Brothers Band 'Fillmore Concerts'
Beach Boys 'Endless Summer'
Abba 'Album'
Velvet Underground 'Andy Warhol' (w/ banana sticker)
Guns n' Roses 'Appetite for Destruction'
Van Morrison 'Tupelo Honey'
Jimi Hendrix 'Are You Experienced?'
Jimi Hendrix 'Axis: Bols As Love' (Analog recording)
Police 'Zenyatta Mondatta'
Eric Clapton '461 Ocean Blvd'
& I can order many other titles. We also have a good selection of used vinyl, you just may find a treasure! There are other labels doing the reissue thang, such as Sundazed and 4 Men with Beards (with titles from Dylan,Kenny Burrell/Jimmy Smith, Byrds and many more!)
For serious audiophiles, the Numark USB turntable is ideal for transferring your vinyl to your computer. pronto! Word out!

So Saturday, April 18th is Record Store Day and we will be celebrating our indie-pendence at Central Square Records in Seaside. We will have live music all day from the likes of Dread Clampitt, Waco Ramblers, Black Creek String Band, Gileah & the Ghost Train, and Reed Waddle (schedule TBD). We will also be selling/giving away exclusive vinyl, cds, and other goodies that only we will be able to carry. Many of our participating record labels will be pressing 7" vinyl pieces with many of the cutting edge artists we promote. It is an all day event and we want our community to help us celebrate this very special day. Here's a few quotes from artists on the importance of a neighborhood record store.
'"Record stores keep the human social contact alive it brings people together. Without the independent record stores the community breaks down with everyone sitting in front of their computers" - Ziggy Marley
Folks who work here are professors

Keep'em open
they're the ears of the town
