Captain Larry Pentel is a native of South Walton, growing up just 300 yards from the beach. Having fished the local waters for over forty years he is very familiar with all the fish populations, their habits and most importantly their habitats. The finest Snapper and Grouper fishing found anywhere, sight-fishing Cobia along the sandbar or spectacular Tarpon fishing at Indian Pass are all part of the seasonal experiences provided by Capt’n Larry.

Fishin' Every Day

Destin - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather is wonderful, the seas calm and the fish are chewin'. I have been able to run every day the past week and have just missed one short PM trip due to the breeze blowin' up. The fishing is fantastic-Lottsa Red Snappers and quite a few big Black ones as well- The Kings are doing their usual on/off thing but have been on a lot more than off. We have been throwing back bunches of what we used to call a "good" snapper, just keeping the gut hooked ones or the "great" ones. Even the short PM trips have had full boards.
Rather than ramble on I'll just post a few pics from the past week to prove the point !

This was today- we bottom fished for 4 hours, trolled for 1- that fish in the middle is a King- not a 'Hoo !

Even the little anglers are bailin' 'em in-

These folks fish with me every year and are great fun. Quite a board for just a couple on an AM trip

Another batch of regulars that always have fun- Hard not 2 when you can have a catch like this on a 4 hour!

This started out as 2 hour Pm trip- we caught all the kings and when I started in they wanted to go another hour for snapper--- with great success!

This is just what the board would hold- there were almost as many still in the box!

Fishing should stay this hot off Grayton for the rest of the month. I'm booked up here till I leave for Indian Pass on the 30th. Still hearing fantastic Tripletail reports from there. My son, Capt Will, said he had boated 61 'tails so far this week on friday ! As much fun as this is here I'm sure I'll be ready to sight fish 'tails and put some 200# silver missiles in the air in 2 weeks. Give a call if you want a Tarpon or tripletail trip in July. I'll be back to Grayton to chase Snappers and Kings again at the end of July.

Thanks Larry - added to the SoWal.com home page. I got some good pics of your arrival with a boatload of happy people and dead fish the other day.
