Southwest Airlines in Northwest Florida?
Southwest Airlines Could Be Coming to a Northwest Florida Airport
Reporter: Erin Niebur

"Panhandle air travelers may want to look for cheaper flights to more
destinations coming in a year or so.

In the last week officials from Southwest Airlines have been in the
panhandle talking to airport directors from Okaloosa-Walton, Panama
City and Pensacola .

Insiders are saying they expect southwest to move in somewhere along
the Emerald Coast . The airports are competing for the new service.

Okaloosa-Walton officials think their chances are good because they
have a new terminal, but Panama City is soon to have a brand new
airport.

Wherever and whenever Southwest decides to come to the area, business
leaders expect more tourists, business growth, and much improved
travel options.

Southwest downplays the meetings as routine and has yet to commit to
anything. Panama City's airport director declined to comment on their
meetings."

I will bet anyone a steak or seafood dinner of their choice that Panama City will get Southwest. Old or new airport,.......its so easy to fly into. It's a smart company, and they know how to make money in a market where there are more winners than loosers. It's a no brainer, PC airport is the most logical choice!:rolling:

either way, old pc or vps, i win, since i'm(and pretty much everyone i know) in the middle of both. waiting for new pc would be a bummer, and SW may not want to enter a potential hornet's nest area. on the other hand, think of all the springbreak traffic they'd get if they went to pc.

ding?

 I meant more loosers than winners....ie. airline industry. It's going to be PC, less military congestion and St. Joe is going to be twisting their arm. They will start out at old PC and move to the new airport. :clap_1:
