Anyone aware of any churches or other organizations that work directly with families in need in Walton County?

Bay Elementary has adopted one family per grade to provide Christmas for. If you are interested in helping out, P.M. me and I can give you contact info. or call the school tomorrow (Monday). I think they're trying to get all donations finalized by Thursday. I know that anything you can give would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I was actually thinking about having my family adopt a family and delivering stuff on Christmas Eve.

A couple of suggestions:
In years past, the local "Angel" tree has been sponsored by the South Walton Fire District...you select a child's name, and they give you the gender, age, and suggested gift list. The gifts are delivered unwrapped to the SWFD's administrative office on 393 north...and they wrap and deliver the gifts in time for Christmas. The donor's don't get to meet the children involved for privacy reasons.
I think the Sheriff's Office sponsors something for families in need. Call 892-8186, ask for Lt. Eddie Farris.
Also, Sharing and Caring (Neally Business Village on Hwy 98) is always glad for donations.
Bless you for wanting to help. Good luck!

Fisher,
I love Caring and Sharing. They work directly with the familes. They seem to be the real deal. Paula Clauson can help if you are in search of a family to help out. The number is 267-2866. I know they will be glad you called!!! Or if you know a family in need have them contact Caring and sharing!

Thanks for the info.
Anyone know of a pastor in the area that might also be tapped into some needs in the area?

Pastor Michael Young at the Chapel At Rosemary Beach can give you a name of a family as well as needs at Shelter House. There are several families in need there. His number is 850-420-2676
Thank you for asking.
habitat for humanity could REALLY use some help this year! local churches have been MOST generous, as have individuals.
still, we have a HUGE list of walton county families who have met the stringent requirements for habitat homes and are hoping to pump up production from the current one home per year to something more suitable to meet the need in our county.
in addition, walton county's habitat for humanity was responsible for coming to the rescue of katrina victims building more than 50 homes for our neighbors in mississippi!!! :clap_1:
you donations will make a big difference in our community!!!
