I just heard on The Weather Channel that a funnel cloud and some damage has been reported in Walton County and that radar indicated the circulation over De Funiak Springs right now. Anyone seeing anything interesting? Do try to get some photos (but stay safe in the process).

Just rain here, but the kids are in the hall at Will's school. There is another storm coming on shore here now though.

My first severe weather event with no basement.:creepy:

TWC just mentioned that one coming onshore, it has "a hook echo and some well defined rotation." Looks like another tornado warning will be issued for southern Walton County.

If I stop posting for awhile, it is because we will be cowering in the laundry room. I need to fold a load anyway.

My sister and a friend were just in Seagrove. She said that things were blowing all around. Then the wind shifted, and then the rain stopped suddenly. She said her ears popped and then she was in rain along with wind again. Any idea on what that was????:idontno:

We just floated home from Seacrest with a short stop in Seagrove. It's coming down so fast and furious, GTTBD couldn't tell if we were on the road or not! Our front walkway is under water. I'm not sure but I think I just spotted a flock of flying monkies! :idontno:

It's not a happy weather day!:bang:

It was probably the cold front passing through, but then again it could have been that storm they were talking about with the rotation and possible tornado? I see the that the tornado watch is being dropped for the counties to the north and east, that is a good sign.

If there's any damage in SoWal, will one of you report back to us? I've been cooking for hours for a tailgate party we're throwing tomorrow, but obviously our home is more important. So if we need to drive down to check on it, we will.
Thanks. I love being part of this online community. You all are awesome.

You're fine. Just lot's and lot's of rain, and lots of wild surf. No power or cable outages. Bay and Gulf county are under the gun right now.

Wow- the wind in those trees is very noticeable on a calm day- I can't imagine what it sounded like during a hurricane! I want to hear your hurricane stories soon!

Peapod is right. I could probably take cover in the foxholes in the yard- they are getting close to storm cellar size.

I will definitelly pass along those stories! It's amazing how quiet that house can be with a few cocktails:shock:

By the way, I have a generator that can take care of a window air conditioner (have that too) for the Master BR, TV, Fridge and satelite if you lose power in a storm that I could probably part with. It would be your pre-designed (and approved)hurricane hideout kit.

JDarg, during a flood around here, the last place you would want to be is the basement. The rising water table may drench you. :funn:

That is funny.

That reminds me of when I was growing up and my mom and I would go shopping for my dad's Christmas or birthday gifts and since my mom was a stay at home mom when I was young, I soon began to think, "wow, so we buy dad gifts, but he pays for them?"

I think so. I use it for everything, during all seasons. Most importantly, it has the detailed computer models used by the meterologists on there, so if there is going to be severe weather of any kind--flooding, tornadoes, heavy snow/ice--you can read about it or visualize it on their graphics up to 8 days in advance.
