When I was in my younger years of school, it seemed as though we would always have a tornado warning during school hours at some time during the school year--usually in April or May. When I was an undergrad at UGA, three times we had tornado warnings during class. One time in May 2003, I didn't have to take a final because of one! :clap_1: But one time, when the remnants of Ivan came through we had a tornado warning and one had actually been spotted coming towards campus. This time was not so fun, all of the campus police and personnel in the building I was in seemed sort of concerned and I remember it being so dark outside that it looked like night, but was only like 1:30 in the afternoon.

South of Birmingham should just be regular variety thunderstorms. Just watch out for heavy rainfall and pull over it gets to be too heavy!

Northern AL and Birmingham is where the tornadic thundertorms are occuring along a stalled out warm front with strong southerly winds to the south of it and a strong jet stream flowing from the west--creating rotation which is producing the supercells.

Tell me again why you are going to law school and not Weather Channel University.:idontno: You have missed your calling.

I was driving home in that crap - when I left work it had stopped raining but there were these very low black clouds. Five minutes later I was in a hailstorm and couldn't see 2 feet in front of me. Scary as hell; I've never driven in hail before. Lots of flooding around here too. My neighbor across the street has several inches of water in her basement, but we got lucky. Hope all is well with you. The weather tonight was about as bad as I've seen in eons (maybe since Spring Break of 2004 in Destin!)

I was actually a sophmore when I changed my major. I am not a "math person" and I was taking physics and calculus II at the same time when I had to change. I would have to take more calculus and more physics to complete the atmospheric science degree. So I changed over to political science, and decided to attack the policy side of environmental issues--and now the legal.
