View Full Version : SNAPPERHEADS Crab Special?!?!?!?

Hey John,
Just wanted to let you know that tonight some friends went to Snapperheads for the Dungeness Crab special....at 6:40pm it was sold out and they were :pissed: (quite upset!!)

They did have some great drinks though so that part was good....but the crab part made for some very unhappy campers!!! :(

Soooooo letting you know just in case you don't already know about this early :nono1: "sell out" and hopefully it can be avoided next time!!

We went to Snapperheads last night in hopes of enjoying the Dungeness Crab special as well. After our drinks were served we were notified that they were out of crabs. :pissed: This was before 7 pm. Considering the time and lack of a crowd it makes me believe they had very little crab to begin with. I had wanted to go back Thursday night for the shrimp, but I am sure there will be a short supply of that as well. I certainly hope the owners will address these issues so Snapperheads can stay viable.

My husband & I have been to Snapperhead's on their AUCE shrimp night, it was terrible. When you ordered more shrimp, they only brought you 6 at a time and you had to wait for them just like when you first order your meal. I won't go back for any of their AUCE.

I hate to hear this b/c i have been wanting to go for the crab when I had a certain friend in town. Now I may think otherwise....

If they ever decide to have "All You Can Eat Sushi"....I guess you could call it BAIT and SWITCH :floor:

Interesting how the Snapperheads folks have no problem spamming the board when they want to promote something, yet no reply from any of them in this thread.

We tried Snapperheads twice-both times, the place was dirty, the food was very marginal, and our waiters could give a dang if we were there or not- it sucked. Will not go back

Shelly's "bait & switch" comment may have been in jest, but that's exactly what is going on here.

I don't want this to turn into a "let's bash Snapperheads" thread. But by the same token, let's be honest here. First and foremost, the place is a bar - a bar that attempts to sell food. When I saw them spamming the board talking about their "new menu" and particularly their "wine list," I spewed coffee all over my monitor. Wine list? I guess they let you sniff the screw-off cap after your jug of Gallo is brought to the table. Honestly, do you see places like Borago or Criolla's posting news and specials on this board? Of course not.

Memo to Snapperheads: You have a cool, funky little spot with good bartenders. Stick to what you do best - making drinks. If you want to serve burgers and mahi sandwiches, go for it. But folks, you ain't exactly The Ocean Club. Do what you do best, stick to it, and don't try to be what you aren't.

jhbeebe, I expected a reply from you and I appreciate it. I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers, but merely say what I have no doubt others are thinking. No, I haven't had any bad experiences there. Because I accept the place for what it is. Matter of fact, I've had fun every time I've been there. I thought there was a lot of truth in my post and I had some compliments for you as well.

All I'm saying is don't try to be what you are not. When a bar/restaurant tries to be everything to everyone, sometimes it makes for bad business.

That said, it's your place and you can do whatever you want.

word on the street is snapperheads has the best burger on 30A. I wanna go check it out, along with the fries. The fries will tell the entire story, IMO...

Hmmmm...my sister and I went to Snapperheads some time in July for the crabs and they were great and the place was packed. SJ raves about their burgers,etc soooo I guess everyone can have a bad night.:idontno:

Some friends of mine ate at Snapperheads in July and got up and walked out. Pretty much the same comments as others regarding service, wait times, etc. I did send private message and got no response. No want to bash the owner but thought he should know. Word spreads fast.

Those who do not deal with a service industry can not totally appreciate your dilemma. It is difficult being at the mercy of a supplier. Perhaps you should choose another AUCE menu? One that will bring customers in, make them happy and is easy to have access to? :idontno:
As a resturant advertising a special...it is your obligation to supply the said product to the customer or inform them upon arrival that you are running low or are out of the special, encourage them to stay with a
on- the -house drink or appetizer?:idontno:

Yes, it was our suppliers error however, it was ours also for not making it up to you our parton's in another form. Don't give up on us, try us again and
