Criolla's

I ate at Criolla's last week and was disappointed. Maybe I was expecting too much. I had the pineapple encrusted Grouper. It was the reccommendation of the waiter. The Grouper was bland. It really had no taste. The risotto beneath it was tasty though.

Has anyone tried this dish? If so how was it? Was I there on a bad night? Or were my taste buds on vacation too?

They do mix a good stiff drink.

Service is outstanding at Criolla's and the wine list is extensive, but on my last few visits, the food was sub-par for a fine dining restaurant. In particular, I recall the lump crab dish having too much butter and salt, and the rice was too firm. The plate was rather boring in appearance and taste. When eating crab meat, one should taste crab rather than being reminded of the butter one eats on popcorn.
