How bad was it in Seacrest? We have a roof leak that we are trying to get fixed. Nobody was there last night.

What an awesome display of mother nature's power. We really enjoyed the sound and light show..much better than the 4th of July..especially from a vantage point in the clouds.
Drove to Alys beach yesterday..not much of a beach but what a concept..nice.

The storm woke me up about 2 o'clock this morning and the lightning, thunder, wind and torrents of rain were too good to pass up so I videotaped things for about five minutes so my wife (who slept through it all) would realize I wasn't exaggerating. Minus the heavier wind, it reminded me of when Ivan hit in the middle of the night in September '04.

I have never seen a solid 60-90 minutes of non-stop lightning like last night. Looked like a bad scene out of The Munsters where the lightning is so consistent and bright that it looked fake. It was awesome.

I also checked my weather station and it indicated the rain was coming down, at times, at the rate of 6.15 inches per hour. This morning, the rain gauge reads slightly under three inches overnight. Following the big storm, we had two more smaller (but still strong) thunderstorms.

Right now, looks like a perfect beach day in Santa Rosa Beach ...

:lolabove: A scene from the Munsters. You have a way with words. I would have slept through it too. :clap_1:

BTW- Love the tar!

It's you, Mango, it's you! Glad to have been of service.

Sent jessifunn a photo for a 'tar that read "Funn Pond Road". I took it in Brewster on Cape Cod but she only used it for a day. She switched to Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies. Now I know where I rate!

I am looking at the gulf right now and it is stunning! Water is beautiful, is the gorgeous green I love so much and very calm no wave action.

SRP...you are so right. No one would have believed it had they not seen the light show. It was a nonstop for what felt like an hour. It did look fake because it just kept going and going and going. What an incredible display from mother nature.

Wish you all could have seen it.

I saw that photo- that was great. Unfortunately how can a road compete when Kimmifunn has her name perched on Mt. Lee? ;-)
