Does anyone have purchasing interest in a menu from the Augusta National Golf Club clubhouse, autographed by Tiger Woods, Gary Player and Arnold Palmer? This was from Tiger's first showing at Augusta, as an amateur. Included with the autographed menu, cover shown below, will be a silver plated spoon with the Augusta National Golf Club logo and a well worn book of matches with ANGC logo. If you are interested, make an offer.

I have no idea what it is worth today, but I would think it would be highly sought out when Tiger is an old man. I will have to search for autographs and check some values. (You should have made me an offer before I researched it)

Side story - Wally Goodwin, Tiger's Golf Coach in college (this man is a trip and a heck of a story teller), (Wally and my brother go back a few years) had a bunch of Tiger stuff, and a well known sports reporter asked to see one particular item - he wanted to copy it into a story for SI. Wally, being technologically challenged, thought nothing of it and dropped it into the mail to the reporter after getting the reporter's promise to return it. The reporter claimed to have never received it. The "it" was a letter which Tiger wrote during the 8th grade to Wally stating how much he wanted to play for Wally at Stanford.

Edit: just did a quick search and I didn't see any of Tiger's autographed stuff for under $1000 and most of it is junk -- mine is the actual menu from the Clubhouse (I was working the Player's Dining Room during the tournament.) Heck, maybe I should search for Arnold Palmer's too.

Dang it! :bang: Yeah, I shoulda! Not in my budget. Great story too, btw.

Where did you get this menu? How do you know the autographs are authentic? Did they sign it for you? I might be interested in making you an offer because hubby and son are both big golfers.

I might be interested in making you an offer because hubby and son are both big golfers. As noted above, I worked the Master's that year with a friend of mine. I personally received the autographs, and the spoon mysteriously appeared in my pocket. The match books were free. I also have my name tag which I could let go with the package to add a little more validity to the menu and the autographs. However, I did turn in the mustard yellow uniform. :puke:

Edit: Employees were specifically asked not to ask for autographs from the players. After seeing the security guard (ie- cashier) who was working the Players Dining Room get everyone's autographs, I thought, why not. My first signature was Arnold's. It had rained that morning and he had a crappy morning of golf. I was the first person to ask him when he came upstairs to go to the locker room. He gladly complied, but he was still pissed off from his bad performance. When the security guard asked, Arnold went bolistic! I ducked down a bit because I thought he was going to explode. Short story made even shorter, the security guard was trying to get all of the previous Master's Champions to autograph one menu. He received everyone's but Arnold's. That security guy has worked several years of tournaments and has received a crapload of autographs. He is very crafty to get collective groups of autographs too.

SJ, I would get that thing appraised if I were you. There are all kind of sports memorabilia appraisal services out ther (some reputable, some not). That is awesome, though.

Heck, I thought I was lucky just to attend a Monday practice round a few years back.

How do you find the reputable ones? I laugh when looking at all of these, "authentically certified" autographed things on the market.

Pineknot, I received your bid. Thank you.

SJ, I think you will sell your autographs quickly. How about a Fuzzy Zoeller autograph on one of Tiger Wood's Championship dinner menus? What would that be worth?

SJ, I think you will sell your autographs quickly. How about a Fuzzy Zoeller autograph on one of Tiger Wood's Championship dinner menus? What would that be worth?Hey now, don't hijack my for sale thread. :nono1::D;-). I have no idea the price autographs bring except what I have seen online, and I would call B.S. on the authenticity of most of them anyway.

Bob, I had thought about posting exactly the same thing! That 1998 menu might be worth quite a bit, though I bet Fuzzy never signed one ...

Sorry SJ for interjecting. If you really want to sell, hope you get a good price and give it a good home. :D

Lesson No. 1: Never buy an authentic Dali signed print on ebay. :funn: I will not name names but let's say a male member of my household did this a number of years back.

Good Luck on your sale!Sorry, I don't really keep up with sports enough to realize that was a joke about Fuzzy's comments on the menu choice if Tiger won. Little did Fuzzy know that Thaii food doesn't include Southern Fried Chicken. ;-)

My husband wouldn't part with his Augusta souvenirs. He has played the course and once eagled 13, our favorite place to hang out at The Masters.

Good luck on selling your memorabilia, SJ.
