Looks like we need some window tinting for our house.....that afternoon sun is going to "fry" some of our things if we don't do something!!

It's not in SoWal...but the only place I will take a car for window tinting is Northwest Florida Window Tint, 119 NW Hollywood Blvd, Fort Walton Beach, 244-6363. Last time I was in there (3+ years ago) they had posters advertising window tinting for homes as well.

Don't know how your home is set up, but you may want to consider having "window screens" installed with UV tint screening (Ya know, like the wire bug screen). That way you can have the darker screens installed on the windows that get the most sun and remove them (and replace with regular screening) in the winter when the sun changes direction and you want the light coming in.

I think there is a product carried at Home Depot that is a relatively clear film you apply to the (interior side) window and it blocks a buncha the radiation without looking like you are hiding something inside. May be much cheaper too!

I just had window tint installed that was also hurricane security shield. I figured why not kill two birds with one stone. I used Dan's Tint shop in Ft. Walton. Number is 244-3044. He uses Armorcoat Safety and Security Shield.
