For you guys missing the webcam, here is a photo for the day, taken just hours ago. Kurt, you said to take a picture of myself. This other photo of where I have been will be easier on the readers/viewers eyes.

Great Joe.

You must walk with a limp.

No limp here, Kurt. Just a couple of dawgs. By the way, they asked me to tell every one, "Merry Christmas," from "Sandy Paws." They heard there was a ban on saying Merry Christmas when standing on Gov't land, so they found a place where freedom exists to state their mind, Kurt's Board.

Thanks for being here, Kurt, et. al. Merry Christmas.

You're a riot SJ!

If you keep posting pictures like that I'm going to have to move sooner than planned.

You asked the other day what living at the Beach is like durning the holidays. I failed to mention in my response, that it is awesome. This morning, I was the only human on the Beach at Grayton. Sure, I saw the outline of about 5 people in the distance at the State Park, but it was just me and the boys(Dawgs). Pure heaven. In the photo, you can even see God has parted the clouds to let in the light from above.

Move sooner, rather than later.

OK, now you've got me in tears.

Don't want to change this to a spiritual talk, but I've often thought the beach was one of the only places you can "see" God, maybe because we can't find that "peace" in the middle of the city.

On a downer, though, after the post Kurt made yesterday about growth, do you think that will change? I, too, have gone out early in the am at Seacrest & not passed another soul. Worried that that's about to change.

It is my opinion that the off season will always be free of people.

Speaking of Dawgs. On Sunday after Thanksgiving around 4:00 o'clock, I was sitting on the beach with my dawg and other less important family members, when the nice lady from the Blue Mountain liquor store said that the sheriff's deputy had issued her a $25 ticket for having her dawg on the beach before 4:00 o'clock, and at the time it may have been 3:50 or later. When did those guys get to picky?

They are random.

Sometimes they ignore you completely, sometimes they ask you to leave, and sometimes they issue tickets.

The Deputies have never once checked my dogs. However, I have seen them check plenty of other people's dogs. Right now, I think the Beach time for dogs is after 3:00pm, and it will remain as such until Daylight Savings ends/begins (I can never keep it straight in my mind.). OF course, the beach permit is required for your dog. Call the Clerk of Courts office, & they can tell you the times for sure.

I can assure you that my dog wears her beach permit tag proudly. So does my mother in law.

Mother-in-laws are not required to be on a leash. Or are they?

:twisted:I've been on the beach in the middle of the winter while it was raining and not a soul on the beach with my 2 dogs and been stopped by the Sheriff. Fortunately only a warning issured. I got their tags after that. Didn't figure it was worth the $125.00 he wanted to charge me!! No luck ever.

This morning, with the outside temperature at a crisp 30 degrees, steam was rising from the gulf. It was quite dramatic. I took some photos - they don't do it justice, but here goes. I took the pictures about 8:30 AM at Western Lake.

Just gorgeous photos! Thanks for sharing the view with those of us that are away from GB and wishing to be there. Even without the dunes the beach is beautiful; the contrast of the blues and the snow white is so peaceful.

We took some great shots last weekend, but I don't know how to post photos. The gulf was rough and the wind strong. Invigorating.

We'll be back for New Year's. Great way to start 2005.

Fresh out of the camera from this afternoon. The water was mostly flat, with a crashing small wave every once in a while. No wind, and fairly warm air at about 50F. Beautiful pastel colors everywhere you look. Only me and the cops on the beach. I think the cops were just taking a break from duty.

enjoy! Merry Christmas!
