Friends of Eden Host Easter Egg Hunt and Annual Meeting With World Premier DVD
An Easter Egg Hunt and the World Premier of “The Seasons of Eden” highlight Spring activities for The Friends of Eden.
The Friends of Eden (FOE), a Citizen Support Organization of the Florida Park Service for Eden Gardens State Park, will sponsor an “Easter at Eden” on Sunday, April 16, 2006, from noon – 3 p.m. in the Gardens.
The Annual Membership Meeting, "An Evening in the Rose Garden" with the World Premier of “The Seasons of Eden” will be Thursday, May 4, 2006, at 6 p.m.
FOE Board Member Georgeen Newell said, “This is the sixth year the Friends of Eden have sponsored “Easter at Eden”. We encourage families in the community to bring a picnic, listen to music, and enjoy the lovely gardens while the kids have some fun.”
Music this year will be Jeremiah Campbell and the Blue Grass Boys. Festivities begin at noon, April 16, with the Easter Bunny arriving at 12:30p.m.. Easter Egg hunts will be open to local children 0-2 (1 p.m.), 3-5 (1:15p.m.), 6-8 (1:30p.m.) and 9 up (1:45p.m.).
The Easter parade will begin at 2 p.m. where parents and kids are encouraged to dress up, decorate wagons, bikes or stroller and follow the Easter Bunny around the park. Sorry, no pets allowed, no matter how cute.

An elegant reception is planned for The Friends of Eden Annual Membership Meeting, "An Evening in the Rose Garden" on May 4, at 6 p.m.
After a brief business meeting at 6 p.m. under a magnolia between the Rose Gardens and Wesley House, members and those interested in membership, are invited to the reception in the Rose Garden. Harpist Suzanne Bonnen will entertain members while they stroll through the garden enjoying the first bloom of the heritage roses.
At 7:30p.m. the World Premiere of "The Seasons of Eden" will be shown. This short film was created for the Friends of Eden Gardens by Guy Davidson of Redfish Creative Group. It showcases the beauty of Eden as well as the history of the Wesley family and the original construction of the house. Light southern food specialties and traditional refreshments will be served.
Hats are optional but Southern Premiere Style Dress is appreciated. For additional membership information or to purchase the DVD call Mary Jo Morris at 246-0046.
