Attention Locals!!! Remember to buy your groceries before noon today. Atlanta high schools and Kentucky are out on Spring Break, and you will not be able to move at Publix today, Saturday or Sunday. Today starts the beginning of our busiest week.

It is good for business. That said, I am going north for most of the week. :funn:

2 wonderful families from Louisville are going to be staying in Grayton this week. They are not Sowallers (yet) but are really funn. I'm sure they will hit the Red Bar a few times! Look for the KY plates and wave- they won't have a clue why!:floor:
And SJ- are you going to take some pretty pics of the springtime mountains?

So if I bring half my kitchen pantry down to the beach with me tonight, none of you will laugh at me for "overpacking?" Not this time? :funn:

How was last week with all the Alabama kids? The U of A and AU people drive the loudest jacked up pick up trucks and they tend to race from stop sign to stop sign. There was a definite difference between those guys and the UGA peeps. Those Alabama Breakers also yell a few more, "yee-haws."

Yeah...they have better football teams. :funn:

Wow, that was quite a generalization, Joe. I work on the UA campus. There are no more "jacked up pick up trucks" being driven by students here than there are anywhere else. Most of them drive Camrys, Altimas and the like - just like students everywhere else.
Sorry, but UGA isn't superior to any other school in the SEC. No better, no worse. 18-21 year olds are pretty much all the same regardless of where they go to school.

I'll back you up on this on JB. He lumped our guys together. He must have seen the UF guys...or the PCB people that got pushed out of their habitat.

Yes, I was generalizing a bit, and mostly having fun. Seriously, I think the big difference is that there seem to be more college age peeps from UA and AU staying in Grayton than UGA students. You are correct that there really isn't much difference on a large scale between college kids from different schools. :D
Kimmi, the school's stickers were proudly displayed on the trucks, so I didn't confuse them with some little school from FL. :floor: I really think the AU kids drove a little faster than the UA kids. Just to relay the message, one does not have to floor it to get from Hotz Ave to Margaritaville, which is located about 30 yards down the street. ;-)

They like their cars fast and women faster. ;-)
Gfunn did go to the house and check it out first thing when they got there. Luckily it was a family reunion.

It needs to be noted that the LSU kids do not participate in such pointless recreation and are hard at work studying for finals already :funn:

Just heard a traffic report- I-65 southbound out of Louisville is already "heavy and slow"- I am not kidding, the entire city is on its way to Destin. Maybe it will be nice and quiet here next week!
All normal on the roads here and at Publix - for now anyway.

Smokin' Joe, I think you are really trying to PI** me off! Now this. It wasn't enough that you posted that other "ALABAMA" thread was it? No, now you had to go and really blow it..by lumping us U Of A peeps in with those AU peeps. You really don't want me to buy you a Guiness at all do you???? I am going to remember this!!!!!!!!!

If I could be in SoWal right now, I'd be happy to stand in line at the grocery store for hours and let people bump into me with their shopping carts. (But I'd really be like Mermaid and bring an extra suitcase full of food.) Sigh.

All normal on the roads here and at Publix - for now anyway. If Atlanta gets out at noon, 11am our time, they should be arriving here around 4-5pm, and grocery shopping soon thereafter. I expect the majority to be there tonight and tomorrow.

IMO, Sunday afternoons aren't too bad for grocery shopping because the vacationers are all out having fun at the beach then.
Saturday afternoons and Saturday evenings; that's the time frame when I avoid the store like the plague. Everyone's just checked into their condo then and feels the immediate need to fill the fridge.

I agree completely with you Paula. I could eat whatever and be happy by the beach.
